I bought a silo spec for $700 (shipping included) a couple of months ago. It was in great condition, just reeking of cigarrette smoke. The only flaw was a small stress crack in the finish near the neck pocket.

I also got my Axis sport for under $700. It's a little dinged up, but it plays well.

I think the deals are out there.

I bought two Silo Specials for $700 each, including shipping. One was NOS and the other, minty. I also bought a fresh Axis Sport for just under $700.

However, I think prices on used MM guitars have been creeping up lately, though they're still a bargain, imo.

I'm noticing that the model of guitar dictates the selling price too. I've seen Silo's go for lower prices than the Axis, AL, Luke, or Petrucci. The only exception would be older "late model" guitars. My Axis hardtail and Sport were well below what some seller were asking for newer models.

I found a Sil Spec for just over $500. Needed some TLC but played brilliantly when restored. (As you'd expect.)

Best bet is to watch Craigslist, the deals seem to be on there more often than on fleabay.

$700 seems to be the soft lower limit on prices that I've seen on certain MM guitars, usually Silo's and some Axis Sports. There have been a few people just trying to sell something quickly that have gone for $650 or so.

I'd say that $700 to $900 seems to be the range for a lot of used MM guitars. I don't think I've ever seen a Petrucci go under $1,000, but there have been plenty of Morse, AL's, Silo's and Axis guitars for around $900.

Ya gotta keep an eye out on the 'bay and Craig's List. The cheaper ones don't last long.

Love the neck on that Axis Sport. Nice birdseye!!

I need to try the MM90's. I go back and forth so much about single coils versus humbuckers. . . . .

The MM90's are the Dark Horse of the bunch,

they have hidden qualities that you dont find in the Humbuckers or the Singles!!

I do confess my ASS has the Bridge MM90 replaced for a Dimarzio Steve Special equivalent for more gain and bite but the neck one sounds AMAZING!!!

really worth a shot if ya can fins one around :)

What's wrong with the Sub? The MSRP was about $1,000 on these I believe. It's not a cheap guitar like an OLP. Not to compare brands, but I like it much better than the PRS SE Soapbar that I had.

I don't think he meant to imply anything was wrong with the SUB. I think he was just saying that "other than the SUB", can one find a used MM under $700.

From what I have found, I think if you do find one that cheap there will probably be considerable cosmetic flaws. You might just get lucky though.

Nothing - I love the Sub, its the best guitar for the money ever made, I just need a drop on the body, I have a frozen right arm, the morse doesnt work for me either, for some reason the axis is OK but it has a belly contour so thats probably it - if I ever go to physical therapy :D

My local GC has a used Axis Sport HSS for $649.
I think it's the transparent orange with the ash body.
I was trying out the Line 6 Spider Valve, and the guy asked what kind of guitar I usually play.
He went and got it out of the back room, it wasn't even on the sales floor.
If it's still there when I get paid, it will be mine!
