On Thursday I get a call from owner of my favourite guitar emporium to say that the hardtail rosewood ASS I was after is being sent out to him today - and that I should go in Monday to try it out.

So went up there this afternoon (25 miles or so) only to find that they havent got it in. After a phone call to the UK distributors they said "we havent sent it yet - we're a bit behind" - the same people who told me "you cant get a solid rosewood necked axis" the week after I saw them being built in California.

Its a good job this message board edits out swearing because this post would be full of words beginning with "F" and "C".

I now have some serious work on for the next few days (after arranging for this afternoon to be free) and wont get my hands on it.

Frustrated doesnt begin to cover it

Dave, that sucks moose c**k.

Give those bastards a piece of your mind (once you get the guitar of course).

It'll just be that much sweeter when you finally get your hands on your ASS. Er, um, you know what I mean ...

Excellent quote "that sucks moose c**k"

I shall use that in an effort to bring more Canadianisms into the UK!

in response to the piece of mind thing....

1. why are the distributors being so useless - I know that guitar came on the same order that Spud's AL did and that was between Xmas and New Year. Should it really take this long to get to the dealer.

2. If the guitar hadnt turned up by lunch the dealer could have phoned to warn me off wasting a journey.

But enough whinging....

There may be more EBMM news later in the week.

Sorry but there are always two sides to every story.......can you think of any reason why a dealer wouldn't get a guitar on time.......

Maybe the customs officers appreciate EBMM as much as we do?:)

Indeed there are always two sides and we can all make mistakes....

but the guitar hadnt been sent (it was still in their warehouse at 4pm on Mon afternoon) after they had told the dealer on Thursday that it was going to be.
They had set the expectation level.

Anyway its just that I'm so impatient for it. After first playing one in the GC in San Francisco in September it seems like a long time to get one of my own.

So at the rate I'm buying can you afford that new house yet BP :D

oh yea???????
get this story of what happend to me this week with my local dealership
its a bit long so be pacient it's an email sent to ebmm customer service...
here we go....

"We would like to offer our sincere apologies for your wait, I know
how tough it can be waiting for an instrument to arrive. Marom's(THATS THE LOCAL DEALER)
original quote of(4 months) should of been a quote regarding when the
instrument would be ready to ship from the US. Standard back order on
all Music Man instruments(which are made to order) is roughly 120 days.
Sometimes it can even take longer due to the fact that we make sure
every instrument that we ship out meets our strict standards both
cosmetically and functionality(playability).

Your instrument is complete and was scheduled to ship out on the 3rd
of January however due to undisclosed reasons Marom's shipment has been
pushed back and is know scheduled and will leave on January 16th, 2006.
Which means they will be receiving it the week of January 23rd. Please
feel free to e-mail me if you have any other questions at all and I'll
be more then happy to assist you. Also keep my e-mail on hand and feel
free to use me as a reference if you have any questions once you get you
Luke.

Most Sincerely,

It's not Ernie Ball's fault you're guitar has been held up. They don't send them oversea's one at a time. Trust me it will be worth the wait.

New Guy,

The waiting is the hardest part. I think Tom Petty said so. ;)

The alternative is to buy what you can find in-stock somewhere. Otherwise, your wait is really no different from any other overseas customer. Some of the folks here have had *much* longer waits than what you are describing.

In the end, it's worth it. :)
