Valentine String gauge change

Anyone changed the string gauge from the 11s that it came with? Any issues or problems doing it? I'm going to put my standard 10 to 52s on soon.

Well, no trem and the nut is cut for 11-48s. The only possible issue I can foresee is if the nut isn't cut wide enough for the bottom 3 strings. BUT, I would suspect it probably is going to be fine. Why do I say this? Because I have 2 Albert Lee's and I have put 10 to 52's on them successfully for many many years now, and I never had to alter the nut, including the one I have of the compensated variety.

I put size 10 Slinky's on mine with no issues. I did set the intonation.

Same here. A little truss rod adjustment, and intonation, and it's perfect. No loss of that beautiful thick tone either.
