I made a deal with a Dude and a Bongo Lord and placed an order today for a single humbucker 5 string Bongo in Candy Red. Yeah, I know everyone is ordering a single H Bongo in Candy Red these days, but I wanted one a year ago, so there. :p

So, while it will be 5-6 months before I see/touch/smell/hear/grok it, I can take some small solice in the fact that somewhere in the ether the concept that is my new Bongo has taken on a metaphysical existence, at least. Um...or, something.

This Bongo will complete the collection (at least let me believe for the time being, ok?) since I'll have my HHp, my SCHp fretless, and now my H.

Best basses ever, yada yada yada....

Monk.... the tap water ok in Duluth??:p
just kidding, I kieed, I keed.
VERY cool man. But what all was involved with this "deal"',I mean usually Mr. Louis Cipher is tough but I've heard of this Dude and Bongo-Lord.... sounds dark and secret hand-shakey.....

Who's drinkin' tap water?

Dude gave me the fairest trade in I've ever gotten on two non-EB basses that I just recently acquired that I wanted to try out. Both are amazing basses, but they are 4s and I simply know that I'll use the Bongo more than any 4. Besides--I've had a project 4 string in the works for a while now that is finally coming to fruition, so there is even less likelihood that I'd play either of the other ones anytime soon.

Glad I tried them out, though. Amazing basses, but no Bongos, that's for sure.

You going with the a piezo on this one as well. 5-6 months? maybe back in the days of fretless white Bongos, but my last one was 2.75 to my door. And say whatever you want, but I was the first one on the board to take delivery of a Red Single H, so I rule!:D

Lord Bongo said late August. So, I'm just telling myself 5-6 months. Which is worse? Expecting 5-6 mos and getting it in 2.75, or expecting 2.75 and getting 5-6 mos?

But, in that time, my girlfriend is finishing law school, we're moving, and who knows what else, so I'm sure the time will fly by.

Now the only question is what exactly you rule, Tiny Horseman.

bassmonkeee--
Just got an email from Jack informing me that my Sterling will be done in August also:(
Like I told him, I guess patience is a virtue....
I bet whoever came up with that expression wasn't waiting for their new bass to arrive:mad:

I hear you, boys, and it IS a long time to wait....but I am told it's our own fault for making these things so popular.

More instruments on order right now than at any other time in the history of the company! Give yourselves a hand, you gear whores!

But, as Dude and I were saying earlier, it's not that long compared to, um, you know, some other companies we know.

But in any case, I do thank you for your patience.

Jack

Jack, your absolutely right!! It's my own fault for waiting so long to put an order in...
