Could you guys describe the differences in the necks of the Axis, Albert Lee and Silhouette?

I tried out a Axis today and *loved* the neck...but I think I'd prefer a Silhouette or Albert Lee for other reasons. Are the necks similar?

I know its hard to describe how something feels, but I would appreciate if you could try, or point me to a FAQ...

Thanks!

The Silhouette and Albert Lee necks are the same. They have a little more of a chunky feel. The Axis has a different neck carve on the back. The Axis neck is also smaller at the last fret.
The Albert Lee and SIL have a slight wider feel when you get up on the higher register frets.

Now you just have to decide which guitar
is better suited to what you do.

Albert Lee is made of ash, Silhouette is now made of Alder. They both have different pickup options.

Let us know what you decide.

I have four Axis's and an Albert Lee, and though Derek's description is technically accurate, I would like to mention that the difference in the feel when switching between the AL and the Axi is minimal - the necks are really very similar, and I can't imagine someone who loves an Axis neck being displeased with an Albert Lee neck. I find the AL body slightly more comfortable to play when standing because of the forearm contouring, as well... But you can't go wrong with either guitar...

FWIW, my next guitar will be a Silhouette or Silhouette Special...
