i'm looking for a musicman neck. can be sabre or stingray, pre or post EB but it must have the truss rod adjustment at the headstock.

Is this going to go on a custom bass? Because the necks on pre and EB basses are different lengths. In other words, I don't believe a pre neck would work on an EB body. Someone else please weigh in on this.

i have a chance to pickup a pre-EB body with no neck (4 bolt). i'm guessing the neck pockets for pre/post EB bodies are the same except for the space for the truss rod wheel?
 
There are three distinct eras of necks: Early preEB with 3 bolt, Late preEB to early EB 4 bolt, and EB era 6 bolt. I've never tried to swap but I wouldn't expect them to fit different bolt patterns. Look for a late 80s-early 90s 4 bolt neck.
 
Is this pre eb body still available?
I got a 79 pre eb neck that's looking for a mate...
