Hello boys and girls,
I have an exciting development happening in Tollywood, my music room. Yes, Tollie rhymes with holly.
So, a couple of years ago, I sealed off the door into Tollywood so that I could put kitchen cabinets along the opposite side of that wall. I cut a new entrance into the room from the family room, but I never hung a door there; it was just an opening in the wall.
This weekend I bought a new door for Tollywood. It's 140 year old door with the hardware to allow the door to roll on a track on the wall. My house was built in 1861, so the door is perfect. It was originally a pocket door hung inside of a wall, but I will hang it on a track on the surface of the wall so that I can see the beautiful hardware. There are wooden rollers on the metal hangars, which is so cool. The metal wheels are not shown in the picture, but they are pretty big. The door is about four feet wide.
I just need to sand down the door and then I will give it the ebmm neck treatment, finishing it by hand rubbing Birchwood Casey Tru-Oil into the wood.
Here's an older pic before I painted the walls the color of a regular coffee.
This is the color of the walls now, which is a very relaxing color...it puts me in a really good mood.
