Well when I joined the forum, I didn't think for one minute that years later and 11k posts I would still be here.

Having been seduced by what I think are the best guitars around, by the great CS and vibe of the forum, I can see why. Here's to another 11k:D

It's quite a decision making time for me. I have been out of a band since last Xmas and have been trying to reform a band the last couple of months. This will involve playing covers in UK pub venues.
Well getting a second guitarist/vocalist was no problem, but getting a bass player and drummer who would "contribute" overall to the band has been a bit of a nightmare. Howeever I was talking to a good friend who is bass player with Budgie, Burke Shelley and he has said that he's not touring at the moment and would like to play. well I'm stoked about that and nervous too. He's a pro and is a hard driver - but I know I would learn a lot from him. Watch this space and let's just see what happens?

Hey Spud, congrats to your 11k posts! It´s always a pleasure to read your posts and having you here.
Good luck with the band

Dang! You're catching up! I'd better post a bunch.:p

Congrats Spud!
This place just wouldn't be the same without ya.

Congratulations, Spud! you are one of the people that makes this forum what it is. We all love ya, mate!

I'm stoked to hear about the drummer too. I managed a similar coup with my soul band - a friend of mine, one of the most stupidly talented guys ever, a fabulous producer, songwriter, all round jaw-dropping musician (piano, guitar, drums, etc.) he was looking for drumming gigs just when I was looking for a drummer. I was thrilled! First gig with him was serious fun and grooves!

11,000 is pretty far off for some of us here... (cough me cough).

Hey man, who says you can't have quality AND quantity? Congrats on the milestone man

Congrats Kevin, great milestone! I visit here often, but dont post often. Your posts are well thought out and informative. I always enjoy reading them. Keep going Spud! Someday, maybe I will be able to join the ALOC.... someday..
Mike

You know what? I could congratulate you for 11k posts, but that's just a number. Your "CONTRIBUTION" here (to put it in quotes like your post) is way more valuable than the number of posts you've made, Spud. It's the quality of the posts and the fact that you are a big part of this forum's vibe and what this forum is all about.

So Cheers to you for that! It's a pleasure sharing this space with you Spud. And by the way, 11k -- not too shabby!

Regards,
Jeff

Congrats! And it's indeed the quality of your posts that counts (best proof is that I own a roasted AL HH, only my favourite guitar, because of you posting a test of that guitar here),

Congrats on reaching the 11K Mark Spud! You're certainly one of the folks who make the forum what it is and it's always a pleasure reading your posts...! Thanks for all the info and advice given, the XMas bashes (that always are a ton of fun) and -on a personal note- for being one of the guys to get me thinking about trying an Albert Lee...which I subsequently did! :D

Hey Coffee... looks to me like Spud got you thinking about ALs four times LOL See you at the Xmas party at Spuds place haha

Cheers
Baz

Well...even more than four times (not counting the ones I foolishly let go...;)). But seriously, back when I joined the forums it was Spud's (and of course Rob's) posts and rave reviews that got me into the AL...so I tried one and have never looked back!

As for the XMas bash...he'd better fill up the fridge! Ryanair tickets are still quite cheap...
