I mean, is there any accessory within the product package like fender:

case, strape, strape locker, cable, string set, manual, tools,battery？

what kind of case is it? Can any body here post a picture?

what's the factory string gauge on a StingRay5?

I hope evry much that someone here could post a picture of a brand new SR5 together with all accessories.
 
As far as I believe, a SR5 should come with an EBMM case, a polish cloth, the strings that are on it which last I checked were EB Super Slinky Strings, the battery that's inside the body and that's about it. Though I've never bought a SR5 I'm just estimating based on what I've seen. As for picks or anything along the lines, I suggest the search function.
 
SR5s, when purchased new from reputable dealers, generally come in a nice hardshell case.

I've never had one come with a strape, though.

You will get a free set of strings if you register your new bass with Ernie Ball, god bless their pointy little heads. Slinkys are good, too.

All the information you might get in a manual is available right here on the EB website or, even better, from one of us. We know all kinds of secret stuff.

And tools? None required. I adjusted my truss rod this afternoon with a ballpoint pen. Who could ask for more?

So - what are you getting?
 
Hey Bov I though they just stopped the free string thing? As I recall they said a few basses were issued with the little string card thing that advertised them, and so those would be honoured, but other than that they stopped.

I am planning to buy it from the "Bass Central" web. Could you please give me some advice on doing business with them?

another question is: how to find out a Ash wood body one? Are those with Translucent body finish definitely made of ash wood?
 
I bought my SR5 from BassNW. Their service is excellent.

I'm fairly sure translucents are on Swamp Ash. Mine is trans red, quite sure it's Ash. If in doubt, ask them.

The free string set is only good on a bass with the hang tag and registration card that says Free string set when registered.

What came with my SR 5. Polish cloth the battery, allen wrench for the bridge and a silica pack. All packed in a good hard shell case.

My local dealer threw in a free setup which I have never used since the SR 5 was perfect right off the dealer's shelf.

The one thing that you do get when you buy an EB bass. Service support beyond compare. The most important thing after the wonderful EB sound.

I bought my Bongo 5 from Gard at Bass Central. My advice: call (do not e-mail) them. They get tons of e-mails and it takes a few days to get a reply. Gard was great to work with. They'll shoot you straight. I highly recommend. :D
 
Gard and the boys at Bass Central are good to deal with, but I'd call Doug first. He takes good care of forum members.

Doug, you guys are on the net now, right?

For what it's worth, I've bought numerous basses from Bass Central and they are fab.

But I chose to buy my last Bongo, the Limited Edition Envy Green fiver, from Doug.

It's nice to support forum members.....no pressure, though.

Well, I haven't gotten the official ruling on this just yet, but here's the thought process - EBMM doesn't let dealers post discount prices on their respective websites.
So, this being the EBMM website, I was thinking - hmmm, I wonder if that's cool to post discount prices here. And I thought - hmmm, maybe not.

So I've asked for a ruling and am awaiting the word from SLO. Meanwhile, I figured better safe than sorry.

No harm, no foul, and if you guys want to talk discount prices, just send each other email.
