I know we all love our musicman guitars but hows about a little round up of what amps we all use and what style of music we play through them :)

I use a Line6 vetta2 which partners up to an axis perfectly! I mostly use the Matchless and Marshall models for my regular playing and the Mesa's and Bogners when things get heavy

Thought it would be interesting to see what you are all using :o

Hey Dee,
I also have a Vetta...its a Vetta I combo, but its upgraded to 2.03 software. Sounds great with my Strat with kinmans, Luke, and two Axis SS'es. Mostly I use the Soldano, Mesa Mk IIC, Variac Plexi or Hiwatt, but I have been getting more and more use out of the Zen 30.

Oh yeah, pics here...

A Koch Multitone 100 (up fer grabs w/ road case!), and soon to go back to the Robot.....a Line 6 Pod Pro XT and shortboard fbv w/ a Carvin ts-100 el34 based 100 watt power amp.

OC,
How do you like the PODxt through the power amp? I also have an XT, and it gets a lot of use as my travel rig (much easier to take a POD on deployments). The local shops don't stock any power amps, so I'm kinda going on all second-hand information.

I too go robot. I'm running an upgraded Vetta head into a Mesa Recto standard 4x12 with the fbv controlling the rig. I also have this sweet little Peavey Prowler 1x12 tube combo that I use time to time.

Sorry, my Silo Spl's not in the pic, but...

I have a PV Classic 100 head that I run through an old Traynor 410. I have the basic Boss: Chorus, Delay to accent it. It sounds great. I also have a Yamaha DG-Stomp that I can use as a preamp and run it into the "effects return" of the C-100 or the return on an old Solo Series PV Bandit. It makes the Bandit sound like something really special.

I'm quite happy with my setup, my tone and the variety of tones I have access too depending on the situation.

My guitars are an EBMM- EVH, Wolfgang Standard hardtail, Wolf Special and a guitar I built myself with a Tone Zone - Air Norton pickups combo.

In my last serious, serious band I almost got signed, and what was I running....an older Pod Pro thru a 2:90. The XT is just very very consistent in every fact thru a tube power amp. I have a brandnew EL34 based carvin TS100 on its way to me. Still need the XT Pro and a shortboard tho.

OC,
Besides the carvin, any other power amps you'd recommend trying with a POD?

Marshall DSL 100 watt with BOSS pedals that I just got.....

Practice amp....Line 6 Spider

Old amp not using, but have just in case....Peavey Classsic 50.

Hi Dee
I use a Cornford Hellcat 212 combo: 35watt class A hand-made point to point, 2 channels (vintage and modern), reverb and Vintage 30 speakers. I've also got the Cornford Mk50 head (also awesome) and like most other people, a PODxt for back-up, recording and portability.

I used to have a Vetta 2 which was excellent but with my POD upgraded with the model packs, I couldn't think of a good reason to keep the Vetta. There's always that part of me the wants the sound and feel of a valve amp.

I've got 2 Axis SuperSports with Piezo and trem.

When at home it depends on my mood. When I'm feel like playing blues its a Analogman modded TS9 into a Fender Champ. When I'm playing with other people its a Dean Markley RM40-DR into a Crate 1x12 and the TS9.

Also spend a bunch of time on my GuitarPort.

Building a Rockman rig now w/ 2 Sustainors (1 clean, 1 distorted) but need a couple more EQs to get the sound right. The Rockmans need EQs in the FX loop to de-Bostonize them.

The rack is currently being modified. Second Sustainor and Stereo Chorus/Delay should be here later in the week. Power amp is a Randall RRM-280 which was rebadged by Scholz R&D as the Rockman 220. Still need speakers.

Mesa 50/50 or 2:90, VHT 2:50:2, the Brunetti one is cool too. You can get a used 50/50 on ebay for like $400. Honorable mention as well Peavy 50/50 or 60/60. Those are both sweet also and can be had very inxepensively.

I'm using a Mesa Boogie Mark IV which I've had for about 13 years and a 1968 Fender Princeton Reverb. I'm also going to pick up a Yamaha Magicstomp Acoustic (in November) and a Bose PAS system for acoustic stuff. Who knows, maybe I'll grab a PodXT as well - just so I can be in the "club" :)

I'm using a Peavey 5150 combo. The bias and some tubes have been modified and it sounds so huge!

My next buy would be a Marshall Plexi Superlead 100w....

Some other stuff comes and goes, but these two rigs have been constants for the last 7 years and more...

I've got a Mesa Boogie Rect-O-Verb Head Series 2, and getting ready to order a 2X12 Rectifier cabinet.
:D
