What bass are you using?

What is your current favorite bass to play. Whether you own it or not.

Trans Gold Stingray, black guard, maple board. Had it about a year, haven't found anything better.

Sapphire Black Bongo 5 w/Thomastik Infeld Flats.

Played it Saturday night (rig: Sunn 1200S, Ampeg 4-10) at a country-pop gig and it was lovely.

Yes, you CAN play "Blue" and "Cowboy Sweetheart" on a Bongo 5 string bass, heh heh.

Favorite to play in the following order:
1- Black/Maple Sterling w/Tort
2- Burnt Apple/Rose SR5 w/Wh Pearl
3- Honeyburst/Rose SR4 w/Wh Pearl

1. My old Trans Teal/Rosewood Ray (the way I had that thing set up was just amazing)
2. Warwick Corvette (i don't know what it is about it, but I love that bass)
3. Marcus Miller Jazz Bass (vintage vibe and funky feel)

My main (and only) bass is a '95 EB MM Black + rosewood neck Sterling
first it was a '02 EB MM Sparkling blue + maple neck Sterling
Also had a fretless Steinberger XL2...

The warwick corvettes are awesome!!! I love the feel of them!!!

Now that you mentioned a different bass....
I tried the KSD v70j. It is a hell of an instrument! And its price is a steal..... I tried it at the London Guitar Show and I loved it.

I almost ordered a fretless Ken Smith Jazz instead of my SR5 Fretless. Glad I didn't:p

right now i'm wondering blind.... I have no favourite..... :(

I'm bouncing between my Bongo5, Stingray5, Fender JAzz'79, and my Lakland 55.....

I can't handle the pressure!!!

sorry for not being able to post a few days
nets havin trouble
my sterling carbon blue
what else:D

I played my newly scored black Stingray at rehearsal last night and will likely gig it on Friday night. But I'm itching to gig again with my '94 Les Paul Plus, because it has a huge sound.

Meanwhile, in the living room I'm loving getting to know my fretless Ampeg Scroll copy, with a monster 39" scale (same scale as a 1/2 scale double bass).

I don't have favorites, because if I did, I wouldn't need 13 basses. If I had a favorite I would only need one.

Before rehearsal or a gig I walk into my music room and just grab the first two basses that say "please play me tonight".

unfortunatly, due to my age and finaces, a squier p-bass. but i have moded the crap out of it. all i need is a bridge and a neck. if i have the money id get a music man of course.

Due to my craving of old vintage bass fishing lures I too have only one bass, Musicman SUB/teal. (and one on the way). Where is my Sterling SUB /Cinnamon? :D

Depending on smokiness of venue I use either:

SR5, Translucent Red, Rosewood Neck, stock pup
or
SR5, Pacific Blue Burst, Rosewood neck, Bartolini pup.

Occasionally use Cutlass 1, all Black

The above may change once "Bongo Has Landed"
