I know this has probually been beat to hell and its also a personal thing too but I'mcurious if there is a favorite Amp with the MM Players.

my stuff is basicly Rancid sounding (Matt Friedman is the reason I have a Stingray and not cause I am an a$$ kisser it just sounded so awesome Live it blew me away!)
and I'm playing through a GK 400 w/ Ampeg classic 4X10 and 1x15 (live its only the 4x10) which is a very nice set-up it doesn't have no effects built in so I'm wondering if a SWR or Eden head would still have a low profile for punk stages but have some stuff I could tweak up like a little presence and get a unique sound from but I want reliability and portability and hopefully only two rackspaces.

but mention everything cause I have been out of touch with music for the last 4-years and there could be new stuff out there. (never heard of a bongo bass until two weeks ago when I found this place) as always thanks for the info.

i think Matt plays GK ...

I play punk, and yup - Matt rules, and use an svt classic. the sound just kiills! but i the svt classic isnt anywhere near portable :(

i owned a mesa m-pulse 600 for a day and that thing sounded awesome too (thats back when i had crappy cabs too). the thing i really liked about the m-pulse is the footswitch. wsith teh switch you can turn the semi-parametric eq on n off, turn the on-board compressor on n off and also kick on the "solo" volume for when you gotta get e a tad louder and cut thru with a sweet run or long fill ... the mpulse is only like 30 pounds and i think its takes 2 rack spaces. so id check it out if i was u ... only downside is its kinda expensive

Well since your talking about his live sound Matt is currently using an SVT5Pro through 2 ampeg 8x10. also he has a furman PL-8 power conditioner, a korg DTR-2 tuner and an Avalon U5 Preamp in his rack. It was in Bass player magazine last decemeber so I looked it up for ya. it also says that with rancid he uses both channels of the SVT, one distorted and one clean, bass to 3 oclock, mids to 1 oclock, and treble turned up to 10.
