Keep your sterling play the heck out of it and put your efforts financially towards college. You already have a very good bass. Get setup for life and enjoy the bass part of it you already have. IMHO

Nope; I don't have a desire to own a bongo, but I definitely want a Pacific Blue Burst Sterling, if I don't find a good used one in time, (no big hurry), well; I'll call Doug.
Oh, by the why, I think you received some good advice, Keep the Sterling and get a good education.
