I shall probably get flamed for doing this but wtf. I'm old enought to ride out the storm.
I'm having a carbon fibre neck made and fitted by Status for my 2003 SR5. To recover some of the cost I want to sell the original which has a rosewood fb. It's in superb condition with below average wear. What's it worth?

Who knows, Dave?

I had an extra fretted neck for one of my Stingrays and put it on eBay. I think I got 200 dollars or so for it.

They just don't come up often enough to have a real idea, other than whatever the market will bear.

I would say between $150-$250 just depending on how urgently someone needs one at the time.

I paid $200 one time for a '93 SR4 fretless neck, and I just bought a fretted '80 neck with rosewood board for $200.

So it seems like the best estimate would be right around $200 +/- $25

I have a spare '87 SR4 body and I plan on buying a Status fretted SR4 neck to finish it off. What is the process/procedure for installing the neck? I see you mentioned that Status is doing the work, did they mention what is involved?

We sell replacement necks for $300 or with a matching headstock $400 so I am thinking the $200 range is about right. However it is worth as much as someone will pay for it :D

I didn't ask them the details. I'm having side LEDS fitted to the neck and as there needs to be another battery compartment I thought I would just leave the whole thing up to them.

Once the CF neck has been made I'm going to take the bass over to them. It'll give me a chance to have a look around and ask the process in more detail. This should be in about 4 weeks. Once I have a bit more detail I'll let you know.

I'm looking fwd to seeing the pix when she's done, Dave.
