I like the way John Taylor of Duran Duran compose his lines. The last DVD of the "Astronaut" tour (may be in London) have some jams at backstage, showing John Taylor with a nat/white/maple SR4. But on the stage, his prefer a bass that I don´t recognize.
Taylor play 2 or 3 songs live with his MMSR4, but in all the other tunes, (including those who slap) he prefer the other...

He's also been playing a Cirrus 5

I know these things because my wife's a John Taylor groupie - I'm her second favorite bass player :(

I am a huge Taylor fan and have been fortunate enough to catch them several times over the past few years. The MM is Bernard Edwards' (Chic) old SR (not sure of the year). He usually brings it out for a song or two but mostly plays the Pvy and Aria.

John Taylor

I saw him live with the Power Station once. He was playing a Kubicki most of the night. And then some bass I didn't recognize.

Never saw Duran²....... I always thought they went downhill after the first record. Although that "New Moon On Monday" song was quite good.
