Which would you choose? Pros and Cons?

So I'm kind of torn with a decsion on which guitar to run with... I recently scored a JP6 in Mystic Dream fully loaded(with piezo and shield) in a trade. I should be getting it in a few days. But I also have the opporunity to purchase an Albert Lee HH in Turquoise.

I played the Albert Lee and just fell in love with it. I'm going through this GAS attack of offset guitars so it would fit the bill nicely. But the JP is a JP. I've owned about 6 of these. Great playability and tone!!!

I have a LIII HH and Y2D that I love.

As far as a player goes... I have an EVH 5150 III and I play everything from acoustic folk rock to hard rock to instrumental guitar rock.

Which would you go for... and why?

I'd go for the Albert Lee. You do know the JP really well, but you never had an Albert, right? And you GASing for one, right? Go get that Albert right now, man!
 
It looks like the AL will fill a hole in your collection better than the Petrucci but --

Let me ask the obvious...Why is this an either/or decision?
 
I'll be watching this topic; I'm in a similar GAS attack, although my choice involves and AL HH and a financially secure future lol.

Or, keep the first, get the second with plans to unload the first, contingent on having a contest to see which you play the most over say a 1 month period. Then, when you've grown so attached to them both you'll probably decide you couldn't part with either.
 
They're VERY different guitars, so just analyze it by what you want and need. Playing the same things on an AL that you play on a JP isn't impossible but it will feel and sound quite different. Thicker neck profile, very nice low/medium output pickups, and a distinctly different shape than normal, so it's ultimately going to depend on what you'll need and prefer.
 
Good call! Variety is the spice, and all that...

Plus, I find that every different guitar makes me play different, style and Inspiration. Even a cheap/crappy guitar will inspire something...
I kinda feel anyone who only plays one guitar is limiting themselves..
 
Well. I'm probably going to sell the jp6. Once I found out that the AL humbuckers are same ones in the axis I was sold
 
Yeah of course, but even my different JP's inspire me to do things differently. And I actually keep them all in the same tunings, E Standard/Drop D. For me as long as the tonewoods are different enough to justify it, I'll own another one. Thankfully I have some cool guitars coming in that'll be different from the norm.
