Question Why no pickguard options on Classic SR??

Hi everyone!! Yesterday I ordered my first Classic Stingray in Black with Birdseye neck/board. Wanted a Shell (red) pickguard on it but.....NOT AN OPTION. But they will ship you a pickguard with it to put on yourself for an extra $25. LOL.

I don't understand the reasoning.....Thoughts??

As of this NAMM you can order the pickguard color (black, white, shell) and pickup cover of your choice (black, white) on the Classic basses (sabre only comes w/ black pickup). It is a new option as of last week and your dealer may not be aware of it.
