Will this crack affect performance

I am considering purchasing a EBMM Axis with the following imperfections (See photos). One small chip that I know won't affect performance. The second is a small crack in the neck body binding where the neck meetings the body. The person selling this guitar to me says he dropped a tool on it when changing strings. I need some opinions...do you think this will have any negative impact on the instrument. My gut says no since the crack is so small, but I am no expert on this stuff. I am able to get a great deal on the guitar as a result...I don't plan on buying as an investment. Overall, the guitar looks great.

Here's the photo:

Let me know what you guys think...

I'm no expert, but as someone who's owned my fair share of beat up guitars, I would hazard that it's probably just a finish crack. The neck is actually anchored to the back of the body in any case, not the sides, and you could effectively cut away half that edge of the pocket without adverse affect to its stability, I'm certain. EB/MM necks have FIVE bolts, after all :D I wouldn't let a little mark like that stop me, especially if I could get a better price because of it, but I would check around for ancillary blems, and if I saw anything else in the area that was a bit worrying. I'd pull the neck and look inside.

Everything else looks fine. The guy is asking $625 and says I can return it if I don't like it. Do you think this is a decent price on a 2001 Gold Trans Quilt Top? (photo below):

Is $625 a good price though, or do you think I should wait and see what I can find on ebay?

I for one think that's a GREAT deal. BTW, I've seen that guitar on Ebay recently...looks like he's really dropped his asking price.

I paid $650 for my 2000 Axis used a couple of months back. I thought I got a great deal and mine didn't even come with the original case! I wouldn't let that one pass if I were you.
