Question Would it matter whether I switch to stereo before plugging TRS cable to Majesty?

I always heard the rumor about JPs would get fried up if TRS cable is plugged into the piezo/mono jack. Would it be the same if I do it to Majesty when it's on mono mode? Thanks.
