I believe I've seen pictures of both
The hardtail Y2D, like all EBMM hardtail and vintage trem equipped guitars except the Sub 1, uses the Schaller locking tuners (just like the Luke). The the Floyd Rose equipped Axis, Y2D, and original Steve Morse Signatures which use non-locking Schaller tuners, and the Sub 1 which uses Gotoh locking tuners.
You probably saw a Y2D with the Floyd that didn't have the wheel on the back of the tuners.

You can clearly see two holes on the back of the neck - that is for mounting the locking nut from the locking trem option. EBMM's licensed Floyd Rose uses the original-style nut that has mounting holes drilled all the way through the neck. That photo is from a different guitar than the other photos, which are of a hardtail Y2D.
