Holy Cow!! First, I must admit that usually I just read posts and keep up on the news around here, but I can not resist sharing the elation I feel for my new HH SR4!
This has to be one of the nicest EBMM basses I have owned (I bought my first new one in 1990 and have owned six through the years). The finish (Sapphire Black) is beautiful, the pocket is tight and the frets are perfect. I've got this baby down to almost zero relief with the E string sitting about 1/16th off the twelth fret. Everything is nice and clear.
And those pickups!! What a nice difference. My biggest fear was that it would lose an element of the classic SR sound. But, honestly, while I have not directly A/B'ed it to a single H SR4, position 1 sounds great (articulate and punchy, like I like 'em). Positions 2&4 seem to be my other faves at this time.
I could ramble for hours. I am happy. I can't wait to plug into to my real amp tomorrow night.
