I went to the MM Serial # Data Base & the serial # I'm researching wasn't available. Is it safe to assume that the number in question, F10721 (Sterling 4), would have been mfg around the same time as the ser #'s that are posted and are the closest to the ser # in question? The two closest ser #'s are F10650 & F12260.

The list should put you in the ball park. The serials are mainly chronological. It's very rare to find one out of sequence.
There's not enough serials to compare F10721 (Sterling 4) with but your Bass should fall in the second half of 2004.
