Some crazy custom model would suit him better then the Strat, but I don't like him ver ymuch. He plays well, but it wouldn't kill him to add a note longer than a 16th on a 240 bpm tempo to his solo.
 
IMHO there's nothing wrong with shredding, as long as its not a song liek Smoke on the water nad other classics which should not be disgrased in such a way, but adding a few longer notes really improves the whole solo...
 
I think an EBMM with a scalloped fretboard would be a crime!!! :mad:
EBMM is well known for their necks. Yngwie would simply destroy that.

I agree. BTW Nobody mentioned a scalloped fretboard. :p He should play Ibanez. EBMM is for >>>artists<<<! :D
 
Well maybe they have to scallop it because it isn't that good in the first place. JP's neck isn't scalloped, and I believe he is faster than Mr. Malmsteen. So if Yngwie were to grap a Pet, perhaps he would toss aside his scallops;)
 
That's what I was going to say.

EBMM's are fast guitars. Strats are not. Therefore, the comparison is between these two

Scalloped Strat <-> EBMM

...a normal EBMM is 10x better than a scalloped Strat :D
 
I own a YJM Sig Strat and its amazing to play and hear I also own a EBJP6 W Piezo. So I have and know the best of both worlds. The YJM has low output pickups and the brass nut and the scallops all add to yjms tone. In interviews he has said that the strat is the perfect guitar for him. The shape and the pickups and the hardware its all to his liking. Plus he owns alot of guitars that arnt all strats:eek: So thats just his thing so good for him. As for Jps EB thats also an amazing guitar but its pretty damn different than the strat in almost everyway, but not in a bad way at all;)

I think it would be weird to see him playing a Silo or an Axis. Almost as weird as seeing Vai with an LP! That would be ****ed up looking.
 
i can't help but wonder about the fact that all the ebmm signature artish all have
massive talents....yet are all so moddest & have manners & such great respect to their fans & fellow players.......i could be wrong......buti don't think that is a coincidence. in this reguard....yingvay is a j.ass.

( & yea...... i know i may get in trouble 4 this post )

The facts are strange actually. I've thought about that exact thing many times.
I'd also like to point out the "age & occupation, etc..." thread.
The people that seem to use EBMM have a disctinct pattern of attitude, politeness and professional background. Though I cannot speak for all EBMM users, the ones that are accounted for on this forum seem to ring true to a certain type of end user. This may also explain why Mr. EVH is no longer with us.
EBMMs are not for egocentric rock stars. They cater to an intelligent bunch that are looking for a quality Guitar/Bass that suits their needs and not something that is iconic or nostalgic like the typical F@nD@r or G!8son! :)

nothing wrong with Yngwie

No1: He has his own style, not just those Randy-followers. Maybe he focused too much on the speed. But he thinks thats cool and sticks on shredding then became famous. Honestly i dont i dont like Yngwie at all but I respect him in a certain way.

No2: Nothing wrong with Fender or,Strats. Strats is very diff't from EBs,but you cant say its some kinda of poop. its still the most classic. US is proud of they having Strats. Yngwie using Strats is also diff't from those players such like Vai or paul with Ibanez. The latter ones are too commercialized. But yngwie probly just simply thinks Strats is the right one for him.

No3. I thought EBs are so cool and better than every other brand. But i changed my mind right after I played a custom shop Strats at a music store. EBs is the best compared to other brands at this price level.
However, for the neck,I still think EB's is the best(i dont know if the neck feels the same for every model of EB's,i only own an Axis) or as good as those incredibly expensive ones.

A guitar with a scalloped fingerboard is very much a different guitar to a regular one, regardless of the brand. So comparing a Ynwie Strat to a JP is like chalk and cheese.
 
I believe he likes the Strat and that it suits him ('cause all of the changes he did to it :D) but the cause of that is probably 80% of his wanting-to-be-like-Ritchie-Blackmore. He's copying him like a little baby. Since Blackmore wrote that kinda neo-classical part of the solo in Highway Star, YJM just continued and IMHO he's really annoying (as a person. and a guitarist :D).

Bingo! Yngwie "time to make the donuts" Malmsteen is a world-class douche. I caught him at a club up in Syracuse in the early ninties. He literally started to pick a fight with his bassist ON STAGE because the guy either hit a wrong note, or didn't get to the right note in time. Whatever it may have been, it was so minor that not a single person in the club noticed until he made a big production of it. He literally lunged at the guy. I mean, I was so emarresed for the bassist that I vowed to never pay my hard earned money to see that spandex-wearing, aqua net-clad, douchebag again.

Man, that's what one goes to see with him, LOL! :) Half of the fun when going to his shows is you never know what he's going to say or do. His personality is volatile and as such it leads to funny or ridiculous comments by him. I'm not saying I agree with what he does, but it's like watching a very talented guitarist and a train wreck at the same time. You can't look away. :)

A friend of mine was a roadie for him. Aparently he does the leg kick and chucks picks to the audience..... in the sound check!
