There is a Natural Quilt EVH on ebay right now.

This guitar was listed last week with Eddie's Sig on it...signed in black sharpie (no doubt in my mind that it was authentic)

the guitar is relisted now and the guy took alcohol and a rag and ERASED THE SIG!! because he said there was too much confusion about the sig being real!!! :(

not the smartest move in the world.. IMO!!!:confused:

OMFG!!!! a piece of rock n roll history....ruined!!!
 
IMO if it was real he would've defended that signature to the death and not erased it.

If it WAS real and he did erase it... well then he's just a douchenozzle.
 
Is it? I personally wouldn't want the signature on there, or any of my other EBMM EVH guitars. To each is own of course.
 
i saw the sig and there is no way that it was fake....just so that i keep the story straight the owner also said "due to overwelming request by potential bidders" the sig was removed.....

I've been watching that auction and it previous listings the last few weeks. If the signature could have been authenticated, I would have bought it a week and a half ago. If it was real, damn what a shame.

Anyhow, what's that beauty worth now? I've been holding out for a natural flame, but may opt for a quilt.
 
How could anyone "know" it was real? I'd never have erased it if it was real.
 
well thats the sad thing about autographs ..........because i collect a multitude of things hotwheels, comics ,sports cards ,action figures,Guitars..................unless it has a certificate of authenticy or has been authenticated by a reputible source a sig will often DEVALUE whatever its written on ,people who collect usual want mint on mint card or a mint sports card with nothing written on it unless it is authenticated and just by some guy saying "HEY ED SIGNED THIS'..................actually devalues the object like i said earlier i mean there are people that make their living doing forgeries..........like i said im 36 and have been collecting for 22 years just my experiences thanx for reading
 
Trust me, the signature WAS FAKE! Eddie does not sign guitars anymore, only the Charvels that were stage played. He hasn't signed a Music Man since 1998. You may see him sign a guitar for charity but it wouldn't be a Music Man. I know this stinks, because I would love to have one of mine signed, but that's the reallity. It was a good forgery, but it was fake.

It was fake you are right, last time Ed had a EBMM in his hands (exept goldie at 5150 to record with , right BP?:-) was a golf game 1998, a fan brought it - he played it a bit and gave it back and then wrote crap on a peavey folder:D .
I have video of that.

People's memory is short. This is the same guitar that I won on ebay for $2200 that was signed by the whole band about 5 months ago. The last Canadian owner wouldn't sell it for that "no reserve" auction price, so I struck a deal at a high price only to learn that he couldn't provide proof of any signature being real. I passed and after a while it ended up in this guys hands with only Ed's "signature". It was all a bunch of crap IMO.

I agree with Lenny on this one. If you can't verify an autograph's authenticity, why bother, especially with all the fraud surrounding such things. My stage played C*****l has Ed's sig on it, but I know it's real.

Jim, do you still have that natural quilt EVH? Does it need a new home??? PM or email me.

Yeah without any verification it definitely makes it less desireable. There was a shop around here that had an EVH autographed Wolf Special on the wall, they wanted way too much for it, of course. It hung there forever. I don' t think anyone ever did buy it.
 
Guitar Center in Manchester, CT has an EBMM EVH in gold that he supposedly played in concert and signed. It's been hanging on the wall since pretty much the day the store opened back in 1998 (maybe 1999) with the same $30K price tag on it. The coolest piece of EVH history I saw was a store that had one of the red/white/black striped Kramer's he played on the 1984 tour, pictures of him playing it, a signed cert saying it was his and played at "such and such" concert, cigarette burn in the heastock, ripped up pickguard and all and it only (I say only!) went for around $12K. That is much cooler in my opinion.
