I drove for 7+ hours today and listened to a lot of Zep. Houses of the Holy played loud!!

So you are the guitar player in a band. You have a great bass player and vocalist but your drummer leaves.

You have the choice of any drummer in the world (dead ones included!)
Who would you have?
John Bonham for me sir !!!

Now your talkin' - Keith Moon !!
I saw him play a couple of times. The only drummer I saw who "moves forward" when he plays drums.
The Who have a great replacement with Ringo Starrs son - Zak Starkey.

Who was/is the drummer who plays with Joe Satrianni - he sounded like thunder!!!

After seeing Clapton and hearing John Mayer Trio then Steve Jordan would be up there.

If we were doing all out speed metal then Dave Lombardo takes some beating (ha ha).

But it has to be Neil Peart surely.....

Keith Moon would be my first choice - totally stylin', he was absolutely unique... then maybe Neil Peart or Buddy Rich...

Easy...Matt Chamberlain.

He plays with Tori Amos, Bowie etc and plays the most unbelievabley complex and original rhythms...

This won't be a popular answer, but I have a twin brother who drums and I wouldn't want to play with anybody else. His influences are basically all of the aforementioned, but with a connection that we were born with. Lucky me!
