Your thoughts on the Silo?

I've been really diggin' on the six-string lately, and it's got me wondering:

Should I be considering a Silo? Could I hold down the bottom on the Silo and maybe throw in some leads or funky chords? Anyone using one in a band setting, or are they pretty much a creature of the studio?

I think that if you had seen Sterling playing that Silo onstage with the Rock Stars, you'd know the answer to this question.

Not my thing - I'm a bassist - but if you have some skills on guitar and some on bass, then the Silo might be an awful lot of fun.

I played on NorM's for a bit. Not used to the string spacing and felt a bit clumsy on it but could see where it would be a hoot.

As a guitar player and not a BASS PLAYER! I'd recommend any of the MM range. But with a Silo you can't go wrong.

When you take delivery, perhaps you could give me your impressions...

Just to clarify, I'm really intrigued with the idea of a baritone or whatever you want to call it...I'm not really looking for comparisons to other brands--if I pull the trigger, it will be a Silo, no doubt...

I'm just not too sure what I can do on one, though... I guess a trip to GC is in the future!

$249 for an OLP Silo ain't bad for getting your toes wet. Even if you decide to step it up for the real thing or that it's just not your bag, baby, I'm sure you wouldn't have any problem unloading that thing on the guitar or bass forums here.
