I thought I'd share this here since I joined just to ask a question, which I still don't really have an answer to.

I have basically the original Ernie Ball volume pedal... guessing it was made in early 90s(?). I acquired around 1997 or so. No serial numbers, and I was unable to obtain manufacturing date of the original 250K PEC pot, so a complete guess on when it was made. Anyway, it had a bad pot, so it was scratchy. It sat in a closet for a few years. I got into DIY guitars, pedals and amps in 2001. In 2003 I found Craig Anderton's "Volume Pedal De-Scratcher" circuit. I put it in my Ernie Ball volume pedal. It wasn't totally to my liking, so it sat for another 20 years. I decided a few weeks ago to revisit the project & make it better, and am now quite happy with the results. Works very well in my "studio" environment.
