I was getting ready to register my John Petrucci 6 string online. Ernie Ball sends you 3 free sets of the type of strings you pick.
I like 10-46 but other than that I'm not familiar with the types offered.
I like to attempt to play Petrucci, EVH, Satch, SRV and basically Hard and Classic Rock, 80s Metal and Texas blues. I dig harmonics.

What's the best set of strings that you'd recommend?

Thanks,Bill

The Petrucci model ships with RPS 10's. Petrucci said in an interview that he uses those strings. Other than that, I don't know a whole lot about EB strings having played D'Addario for the past 20 years.

RPS 10's are the string set shipped with the Petrucci Guitar. Those have the reinforced ball end.

I would reccommend trying these

Hybrid Slinky's (Orange) - 9-11-16-26-36-46

Skinny Top Heavy Bottom Slinky's

10-13-17-30-42-52

Power Slinky's: 11-14-18P-28-38-48

Hope this helps ~
