The April addition of Vintage Guitar magazine features Brad Paisley. On page 118 they have a picture of his Silhouette Bass-o-caster with Tele-style bridge and mm90 in the neck pickup. This guitar has a large mouth bass painted on it. Also listed are two Axis, I think one is a sport with mm90's and the other a super sport mm90. The caption does not say the model and the picture, it is hard to read the headstock. He also has an Albert Lee in Sparkle blue.

This is a great magazine and well worth the subscription.

Paisley was on Letterman a month or so ago and he just tore into his tele like a man possesed!

Even though I'm not a huge country music fan, his lyrics are pretty hilarious and his playing is just amazing.

I think Big Poppa mentioned Paisley playing a gig recently with him. I can only imagine what it would be like to have Paisley and Albert Lee tearing it up on the same stage. You could be sure there would plenty speechless guitarists in the audience!!:D :D

Check out Luxury Liner off Albert's Heartbreak Hill album ( It may be in rotation on the EB website) Albert, Brad Paisley and Vince Gill, all a-pickin' and a-grinnin' :)

Paisley's a real guitar player's guitar player, for sure... Wouldn't it be great if EBMM did a signature Axis for him? Maybe something like an Alder-bodied Axis with a Tele-style bridge and the plate-loaded Duncan bridge pup from the AL, with an MM90 in the neck slot? Cool... :)

we have worked with brad many times. He just is really happy with his Tele. He uses an Albert Lee in his set though.

Brad was kind enough to volunteer to play at lasts years CLB....It was Brad Luke Albert Meatloaf and Rodney Crowell backed up by Cliff John Ferraro and me. Brad is a really talented and kind gentleman.

Yeah, Paisley is pretty phenomenal. I saw him live up here in Washington this last summer and they did a great instrumental that was remeniscent of the Dixie Dregs. I was totally blown away. His band is also pretty stinking talented.

The only thing that sucked about the concert was that most of the people were there to sing along with his songs, which are very clever. But then, when he would finish a chorus or a verse, they would all cheer. Well, if you have heard much of his music, those moments between verses and choruses is where a lot of the guitar magic happens. So all his fun licks got drowned out by cheering. Even some of the solos. But other than that, it was great. And I also am not a country fan. Just a Brad fan.

Oh, and he does awesome animation as well...

I hate when that happens in a crowd. It reminds me of the time my wife and I went to see Letterman's show. We ended up in first row of the balcony directly above the band. Personally, I think Paul Shaffer's entire band is the best on television and one of the tightest I have ever heard, so I was prety pissed off when one of the pre-pubescent CBS pages kept trying to get me to clap during the band's performances for commercial breaks. I completely understand that that is what is supposed to be done during the taping of shows to keep the crowd involved and entertained, but being a musician and having the chance to see this band live I basically told her to "go scratch"....

She had to get over it because I was getting an awesome show watching this ridiculously talented band jam out. Will Lee on bass and Sid McGinnis on guitar is a great combo and Will Lee actually threw a pick up to me. The entire band shifts effortlessly from song to song and have a great time doing so!!

Can anyone recommend me some Brad Paisley stuff? I tried sampling a bit on iTunes last night but there wasn't much in the way of his instrumental ability on the samples.

I saw the late show being taped a few weeks ago, and the band is simply amazing! There was much pick tossing when Saw him too!

Spud,

I really don't know of any of his tunes besides one called "alcohol" but look around and see if you locate any of his live clips. He let's loose at the end of songs and every little break possible. Maybe I can locate the clip from Letterman, he was definitely showing some chops off that night.

I remember watching a Brad in concert on that country channel a few years back...he played tele for everything except for Munsters Rag which he pulled out a Sillouete for. Me guess he needed maximum speed under his fingers for that one. Anyways, BP is a very entertaining player and his tone is unbeatable.

What I like about Brad is that he truly grooves on playing guitar. Yeah, he can play his a$$ off, but when he is singing you can see him getting ready to drop some ridiculous lick on the crowd at every chance he gets.
