Casey's Friend got bone cancer of his knee when he was a sophmore inhigh school and nearly died....he hung in there graduated with honors got accepted to Cal Berkely (really hard to do with out 1.5 years of cancer and chemo)...HIs mother was a battered wife and made national news by shooting and killing Andrew's father (it made all of the national news) The Dad's mother paid for the legal defense of the mother and Andrew had to take a leave of absence during his freshman year to take care of his brother...Mom served three months Andrew went back to Cal and was then dioagnosed with terminal cancer. I saw him three weeks ago and he told me that he could beat it again......He was the smartest kid ive run across and just a GREAT guy
Nobody should have had to go through what Andrew did...

Sorry for the hijack but we are all still shook up over here.

BP and Casey very sorry to hear about your friend, cancer is a cruel thing and I feel for anyone that has to go thru that hell. Sounds like Casey's friend lived thru things that no kid should ever have to live thru.

Awwww...I just read this thread and the news article...how very very sad. My prayers are with you and the family. She can be in no better place, than with the Lord. However for family and friends left behind, what devastating pain.

My prayers are with Casey too. How sad when young innocent kids have to live such rough lives. I'm sure Casey was a blessing to him as a friend. Sometimes good friends in our lives can make all the difference in the world.

I pray God gives you His peace and comfort through this rough time....*Hugs*

Jesus Christ, no kidding. Just....no kidding.

I bet having Casey as a friend (and you, BP) helped him quite a bit. You guys have had your challenges, too.

Give Casey a hug for me. It's hard to lose a friend, no matter what age you are, but it just isn't fair when you're Casey's age.

Jack

PS: That Casey is one hell of a guy, boss. I know you already know that, but even old guys like me can tell what a great guy he is.

You know that Casey and Andrews original bond is that they both faced death and came back...they agreed to never talk about it...they just understood. Part of the problem is that it brings caseys mortality to the forefront...
