Speaking of cars...
I love that guitarcenter video of BP speeding off in that classic car. As he shifts gears it sounds like he grinds the hell outta the transmission so bad...then it looks like he nearly wrecks it trying to get outta the parking lot. hehehe...if you've not seen that little video, search for that link here at the forums!
Every year I go to the US Grand Prix (Formula 1 World Championship race you NASCAR fans) in Indianapolis. This year I came out of the restaurant I went to for dinner and to my delight, in the parking lot, was parked a whole row of Elises and IIRC at least one or two Exiges. Didn't count, but it was at least a dozen all told.
I was drooling like Pavlov's dog.
Colin Chapman was a genius. Reportedly he once described the right way to build a nimble car: "add lightness." I wholeheartedly agree. So many of us like big, muscular vehicles...not me. Give me something tiny and light any day. Better handling, more fun, greater efficiency all at the same time.
If you don't have to lug around 3500+ lbs. you don't NEED a huge, powerful engine.
This thread makes me sad. I just sold my 2003 BMW M3 coupe about a month ago so my wife could have a new Toyota minivan to haul our daughter and all the stuff that goes with her around. The M3 was 330 hp and by far the best handling car I've ever driven. Plus, the E46 was the last BMW body style I truly loved. I know they're selling a lot of the new ones, but those designs do nothing for me. Maybe they'll grow on me like the Bongo did, but I doubt it.
Oldtoe you are officially my new favorite person on the board just because you posted the Buick Grand National. That is my favorite car of all time, and I may be getting one this spring!!!
I saw a poster once upon a time (I'll try to find it and link it up) and it was a Lotus Espirit in BRG with bright yellow mags. Imagine a whole line of EBMM guitars and basses with BRG bodys/pickguards and golden yellow pickup covers! I know that both EMG and DiMarzio do yellow pickup covers. Some golden yellow volume/tone knobs would be stellar too.
I am all ready in debt to EBMM for a few thousand dollars, but I would be more than willing to go a little more into it with this color combination. I once upon a time talked to F****r about doing a custom guitar in this exact design. I didn't go through with it, because someone let me play a Silhouette.
