I wish we could have one for 2007?

On each month say a pic of a geetar and/or a bass geetar?
Maybe even some shots of (Precious) Albert, (Lucious) Luke, and (?) Petrucci, not forgetting Mr Madden.
How about a picture of Mitch Merrett too? along with Keith Richards?

It would take pride of place in the office (when I'm there!!)

Edit: I'm off working in Wrexham North Wales for a week - gonna be away from the forum - can I hold out!!!

great idea, but outside the forum, there probably wouldnt be enough demand to offset the cost to make them

Great idea. Too bad the demand wouldn't cover the costs. If it were feasible, what would make it even better would be to have proceeds going to charity. Oh well...:(

Foggys got enough pictures:D
Then all we need is someone with typesetting skills, someone to host it, then we can d/l it and print it out.
??

you have a good point....anyone on the forum own a printing business? or have a close friend that does?

nah - you don't need a printer - you need someone who is good with Adobe to edit the photos and then encorporate each month of 2007 on a separate sheet.

So 12/24 pics on 12 x A4 word documents - jobs a good un.

Now if you want a pro job then yeah a printer is a must - but we ought to be thinking 2008 for this?

I assume therewould no copyright infringement as the calendars would not be sold for gain.

Hey another idea would be to have some "famous forumite quotes" on each month too!!

I've got Abode writer, I can create the PDF.

I use OpenOffice and there are some calendar files out there, I'll take a look this week and see if I can find a good one.

I tried to do this a couple of years ago, but it just didn't happen. I'd love to have one, though selecting 12 or 24 pictures won't be easy. I recommend that we post a couple ever week and do a poll, that way everybody has a say.

We can hit Foggy up for some pictures.

What do you think? Glenn |B)

If we get a print run done of these then I would suggest the price includes a heavy uplift charge which is paid directly to the CLB foundation.

As for the choice of pics then twelve six stringers would be fine by me :D

This is just an idea but...

What about if for the 2008 calender year, all EBMM guitars and basses came with a calender and each item had about a $20 dollar upcharge to it? That way, each guitar or bass bought in the calender year would offer $20 to charity; and you HAD to buy one. What that would mean, is that for all of us that WANT one then we get it... for the rest of the purchasers who don't know what it's all about, they get one too, and a little info sheet about the CLB Foundation?

This would give a good couple of months for the EBMM fans/diehards/staff to collect and submit their best ideas for the pictures. I suppose this way, it helps charity, and it's more than just fans doing it.

Thoughts?

Now that I think about it...

I don't know about anyone else, but what better reason to have gear than to help people? Were I to know that a portion of my money spent on a great guitar/bass was going to a really good charity, I'd be super happy. $20 is just a number that initially popped into my head. I'd pay more, because the EBMM family of instruments is cheap as it is. What's a bit more money for charity?

:D

Thats a great idea Colin so if we say post our pics to this or maybe a separate thread - it shouldn't take long to do?

A couple of forumite quotes would be good - I remember Mbgreen used to use a good one - something like " the AL was too good a guitar not to have"
I say we have January dedicated to Foggy's guitar - a blank sheet of paper ;) :D

I'm away working now for a week so won't see any forum news until next Saturday

I think this is a great idea. I think the difficulties would lie in choosing charities all would agree upon.

I also think it should be working guitars. Guitars that are owned by us and played by us. Take the best photo you can and submit it to whoever is leading this.

or do you think it should be the best photo of any model??

Just a suguetion.

I did a "bass-centric" calendar for 2006 and will probably fling another one together for 2007.

The best way to do it (or at least the easiest way) is to do it through Cafe Press. The owner of the Cafe Press account can then charge only what it costs to make the calendar instead of adding anything to the final cost (that's what I did - I just wanted a calendar and to have some fun, not in it for profit).

There are probably other on-line calendars available, but I already had an account.

The quality was pretty good, I think, and everyone liked them.

You guys want to make it as easy as possible. I'm sure BP appreciates the concept of money for charity, but once you start putting all these extra requirements on a calendar, it's going to get complex.

Just my two cents.

Sounds like a cool idea to me, I will break out my AL and take a pic of it in front of the "Welcome To Las Vegas' sign

Bumpa de bump.

Hey guys, I've been in touch with Glen (GWDavis28) and we think we can pull this off!

Having read the thread I appreciate your feedback e.g. as a fundraiser for charity but if you want to do that, it will have top go to a planning stage a lot sooner than the December before the calendar starts. It would also need a pro to get it to look the part.

So if you would like to have your guitar or guitars basses too , on a 2007 calendar then please e mail them to me at

spudatweb-linksdotnet

(swop the at for an @ and the dot for a . the things you gotta do to stop robots stripping yer e mai addy !!)
and we''ll see what we can do.

There's also been some great quotes from knuckleheads over the year, so e mail them too and we'll get a selection on the calendar.

It is intended to host the calendar so that you can download it and print it out yerselves

- so lets have yer photos !!! - sharpish !!
