hey so like the title says, i got into a bit a brawl/gang war last nigth through no fault of my own, heres what happened:

so basically here i was last night walking across the road to a mcdonalds in a seedy area when this group of drunk teenagers walks past me. A 13 yr old from the group grabs me and starts screaming at me "YOU WANNA STATR SOMETHING (insert expletives)" so i chuckled a bit because it was so not even scary, but then one of his bigger and older friends come over and throws a punch at me. Hits me square in the eye! Then the gang turns it attention one me and my 2 friends so we retreat into the mcdonalds, only to have the gang follow us.

So i get into maccas and a few come in and are in my face yelling at me;, 'WHY WOULD YOU TAKE AN EFFING SWING AT A 13 YR OLD!!!!" I was a bit confused by this because as far as i knew all i had done was try to walk across the road to mcdonalds to get myself a $5 feed. So then these security gaurds rock up and have to drag a few of these drunk teenagers from the store. So im a bit shaken up as im not exactely a big macho fighting sort of guy

I'm then told by some people that the entire gang of about 20 guys are waiting outside for me and that to go out there and try to get back to my friends car would be the equivelant of putting a loaded gun in my mouth and pulling the trigger. So here i am angry and scared in this mcdonalds thinking how the hell am i gonna get back to the car and get out of here.!? Then these nice guys inside the store come over to me and tel me that they saw some of the guys in this gang laying into a woman earlier in the night, simply becuase she tried to stop them from destroying her car, so he was wanting to help us out and get back at them. and this guy brought along about 5 or so of his equally built friends. So it was starting to look like i had a bit of a gang war on my hands.

Then one of the security gaurds comes over to me and says that the police have come and that if i wanted any chance of geting out safely then i have to come now while the police are dealing with them. So i hurry out of the store with one of the guys trying to defend me telling me that i should wait and get my $5 feed. i told him this was more important. i also look behind me and it seems that i have a crowd of onlookers, with about 2 other people followng me to see what was going on.

so then i come out of the store and of course the police are taking to this gang rigth infront of my friends car. and the gang starts screaming at me saying they were gonna get me for having a go at their 13 yr old friend.

so the police take me aside and ask me whether this was true. i told her that all i had done was walk across the streeet to get some maccas and that as an 18 yr old who only weighs about 55Kg, im not the sort to go picking a fight with a gang of 20+ drunk guys. needless to say she beleives me and asks if i want to press charges, i told her it wasnt worth it so then i got escorted back to the car and was told to make sure we werent followed on the way home.

so now im sitting here with a black eye and a bit of a headache still thinking, all i wanted was a $5 feed, which i didnt even get.

so anyway i just thought i would share that experience with you all!

ill try and post some photos of the blackeye tomorrow.

Glad you're okay, but the McDonald's meal would have probably been more harmful than the punch in the eye. :) Seriously, that sucks, and I know you're angry, but it's done. Be grateful you don't have to live with that on a daily basis.

Aren't there some lovely people around? I though issues like 13year old drunk gangs were only in the UK.

Sorry to hear about your aggro, hope the eye heals quick.

Our world sucks!

Glad you were able to keep your head, (no pun intended..) and get out with only a black eye.

SOmething like that happened to my dad...he retreated into the Mc donalds in SLO and asked for someone to call the police...they did and the police arrested my DAD! Front page news. The DA pressed charges. WE had o hire our own private investigator and one of the kids finally told the truth. The charges were dropped but nothing happened with the attackers.

When I was a teenager, I was involved in more than one such scuffle at a local McDonald's. I wasn't part of the group that went there regularly looking for a fight, but I don't have it in me to turn the other cheek, either.

But in those days we still settled scores with fists. Nowadays in the USA, everyone has a gun and nobody has the guts to get physical. I'd say be thankful that you still have fistfights down there! ;)

I'm glad you're ok bro but personally, I wouldn't have been so forgiving for someone throwing one in my eye. Reminds me when me and a buddy of mine (both of us 12 at the time) were jumped by 3 16 year olds and a 17 year old. All started with them making fun of me for my sandals, then taking them. 10 minutes later, they've run home and the mother has called the paramedics for one of her sons that got his head shoved into a brick mailbox. Can I say i'm proud of myself for that? No, but it sure felt good at the time.

Regardless, you did the smart thing of not fighting back. I look back and see violence is actually quite stupid. Granted, in certain situations, i'll still turn things into a physical affair. Just my bad temper. I raise my glass to you. :)

Sorry to hear about that. I'm 24, and have never been in a fight. I guess being 6' tall and 270 helps:D

Great story & I'm glad you're okay! Stupid punks.... I'm lucky that I'm 31 years old & the only scuffle I ever got into was when I was maybe 10 years old. It was with a kid my age, and he was just a misbehaved kid who liked picking on me I guess. It wasn't even a real fight, and I don't think either of us won. :D

In the USA, only the punks will have guns soon! I carry a .40 caliber handgun, (legally), and haven't gotten into a situation like that since I was in college thank Goodness, I hope I never have to use it, but IMO< and without starting a long discussion on Gun Control, seems to me that stuff like that happens less were lawful citizens do have guns. Think about it, how could have he settled that score with his fists against 20 kids? He would have been killed. Not that I would have wanted to hurt a 13 year old kid in anyway, even one that was acting so irresponsible and disrespectful, but if it meant my life, or a member of my family, then I guess you would be forced to choose. The shame of it all is that Here in teh US, he would have been arrested, and had to prove his innocence. The only thing worse than our violent society is the justice systemand it's inability to deal with it effectively. I'll step off the soap box now. thanks.

I love when people say "I don't want to get political" and then proceed to tell you their political position. Basically, you just want to tell us what you think, and hope no one follows up with a counter argument...

You should go live in third world countries for a while and then reassess what the worst thing about our society is.

I don't have much time....for the next week either...I am working a "private" job that entails the security of someone's child...because of an incident like the one you had. People are either gonna be stupid or cool. The stupid ones need to be kicked off the planet...and that is what I can do....

Dude...glad you are okay...you got lucky.

Lets all back off of the political box

The Man hath spoken.

Listen to The Man, for he is wiser than us.

He's also in charge of this loony bin.

I have a rule: I never discuss politics, contentious social issues or religion in public or at gatherings such as parties and family holidays. Even with people with whom I agree.

The reason is simple. It's effin' tedious at best, disastrously hurtful at worst and there are far more interesting things to talk about.

Like, say, the weather. Or the best way to pass the time while you watch grass grow or paint dry.

As an ex 'Constable' I've been involved in a few fracas even though I'm far from a 'fightin' man'. It seems you didn't even get the satisaction of getting your own back:rolleyes:

Seriously, glad you're not in worse shape. Discretion is the better part of valour IMHO. Don't let it get you down, (these things can), coulda happened to anyone.
