My two cents.

I have two ideas that may or may not be junk; but they've been kicking around in my head for ever and a half.

1.) There's a color called British Racing Green, and I've included a link to give you all a visual this time:

British racing green - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Once upon a blue moon, I saw a Lotus Espirit with this paint color, and taxi cab yellow mags. I always thought to myself a guitar with the same "brg" body color and taxi cab yellow pickups would just look super. I think with a rosewood fretboard and some sort of pole position-esque fret markers (a checker flag or something similar) and then you could have some sort of racing theme. Then, for the guitars with binding, a checkered binding would be incredible. A clear pickguard to show the great color would also be keen. I think for the hardware, the silver would look really keen on it.

2.) Whenever I think of New York City, I picture the millions of taxi cabs lining the street.

Image:Checker cab.jpg - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I always imagined that a guitar in taxi cab yellow would be awesome as well. I think some heavy birdseye maple neck wood (maple fretboard obviously!) and a solid yellow paintjob would be pretty sharp. To accomodate this idea, some white and black checkering would be in order... and then for the pickguard, if you've ever been to Subway (Eat Fresh... hahaha) you'll know where I'm going with this. On the wall of every Subway there are old newspaper articles or maps of NYC. I think to have some sort of newspaper print pickguard (like the titanic sinkingor something of that caliber...) would look really keen as well. Then to sweeten this deal, each of the custom guitars made could get a "N.Y.C. Taxi" stamp (in army block lettering) with a random number, like every cab has. I am not sure if the newspaper/map pickguard idea is feisable, but the taxi cab yellow would sure catch some attention. Some black chrome knobs would also be a grand idea... actually, black hardware in general, or really shiny chrome colored.

These have been dreams of mine (yes, the taxi cab guitar has actually shown up in a few dreams...) and I figured since Dargin was asking, I'd chip in what I could.

Round two of my creative juices.

So, I got to thinking... I have WAY more ideas to throw out there... here's a few more:

3.) The Chickin' Picker

We all have a crumby old pair of blue jeans that undoubtedly have tears and rips in them... but they are just so comfortable, down to the wallet indent in the back pocket. What about a faded blue jeans blue color (transparent of some kind) and then some additives to make it a little... hillbilly. Maybe throw in some kind of little cowboy hat fret markers, and potentially chrome pickup covers a la the old twang guitars of yesteryear? Again, some really keen birdseye maple would do this the justice it deserves.

4.) I haven't really thought this one out, but have the initial plan ready:

What about a tuxedo-oriented design? A solid black or white with the the other color for the binding. Very simple and elegant. I know a black guitar with white binding or a white guitar with black binding would be quite nice. Then the black guitars could get rosewood and the white guitars maple. For fret markers, little bowties or something? This idea is clearly rough around all edges, but worth mentioning.

Round three.

Sorry if I'm crowding the topic, but these ideas keep coming to me, and I have to jump at them as quickly as I can.

5.) A natural selection.

What about a limited edition of guitars simply showing off the prettiness of the wood? No coloring or finish to cover the wood in all its glory or flaw. I think a natural LUKE or JP6 would look stunning... this in mind, a birdseye maple neck would have to be offered with this one.

6.) A semi-hollow Axis?

I don't know if I'm treading on bad ground here, but what about an Axis Super Sport with an F-hole? I know it'd sound absolutely killer. To accomodate this, maybe offering the ASS in a 3 single coil configuration or the 2 humbucker configuration would sweeten the deal? I am a large fan of rockabilly, and in trying to support only Ernie Ball (because the guitars are hands down the best made ones out there...) I find it very limiting if I want to get a rockabilly or certain blues tone. Along with this idea, maybe instituting a custom orange color similar to Chet Atkin's old hollowbody (G****h Orange, I guess I can say...) and putting one of those leather pads on the back to "limit scratching from big belt buckles" would be something as well... OOOH. And maybe a Bigsby option?

Anyways, I think I've more than said my piece for the LE models. I'll leave the road open for others now... well, until I get hit with another brainstorm.

I would love to see a 20th anniversary type package on a Silo Special.

But if color is what we have to choose as far as option I would love to see a nice warm color like honey burst. I would love to have a Silo Special in honey burts. :)

Now THAT could be interesting. I'm not sure the normal axis pickups would gel with a semi hollow body, so the 3 single might be a nice choice.

I'd like to see a limited edition with maple fretboards on all models... a maple fretboard (and alder bodied) JP7 has been on top of my wish list for a LONG time - it would have looked so cool in the dargie delight finish with zebra PUs!

Cheers

I would love to see that, but to get a maple top on the Petrucci model, you would have to put in some very harsh bends in the wood to fit the contour/armrest area. This picture is from when my the flamed maple top of my guitar was affixed. Just imagine many more clamps and hours of work for a JP model, which means $$$

What if the arm scoop top on the pet was cut away?

Cut a peice out for the big contour...wouldn't be too hard for the Jp... I 3rd and 4rth the quilted top Petrucci Idea. EBMM would do a much better job then the Troll Ed Roman.

Woops, sorta repeated this idea.

What about a back-loaded/no pick-guard Silo or Silo Special?

Across the board to all models, seems to leave only color options.

Guys Thanks for the input but as it is we are offering hundreds of new models this year and there is a limit to what we can do and still be able to not break our production mokel.
Keep in mind that we have a loong list of things on the drawing board for the future including things that are fairly similar to what you are askng for
AS FAR AS THE BP BIOGRAPHY IT WOULD BE TWO PAGES.
