The clear pickguard is standard on any Morse Y2D model.

I believe they are the ONLY EBMM model that can have a clear pickguard.. at least at the current time.

Thanks for the clarification. I was really hoping we could see some clear pick guards from EB, but I can do without.

I am really hoping BP tells us how to put money down on one of the 10 BFR SR5's!

Thanks!

Good man, but I'm a bit worried about the price tag now....these things may be over $3000 which for a quilt/flame top (which don't look like premium tops either) on a standard luke/JP-F1 with no piezo option is in my opinion a bit too much!

I'm looking forward to my DD Luke even more now!

Knox,

The BFR JP models are fully loaded.. i.e. piezo, matching headstock, JP inlays (plus BFR inlay). The only option is the color, and maybe the top (flame/quilt).

Not sure about the Lukes.. these are intended to be high-end EBMMs, after all.

Hey Sasquatch,
Thanks for posting the closeups of the LE. Amazing!!!!

Sorry, Knox. Upon inquiry to my dealer, I was told the MSRP for a BFR Petrucci 6-string. It was more than a third of that JEM.

If that's the case that probably puts me out of the running for a BFR. At least it makes my choice for a 2007 LE a lot easier.:)

Damn Straight! I'm gonna get my gf's brother in toronto to get it for me. I get peeved at the way we get over charged for everything in this country.

I can give you the names of a few dealers that I deal with. That way you can try to get the best quote. I'm sure others in the Toronto area can do the same.

Lumberjack,

Well, first off let's remember that MSRP vs. Street Price are very different figures! Then, let's also wait for NAMM to end and allow the dust to settle and then BP and crew can set us all straight on these matters. For all we know some of the details haven't been fully established because they've been so busy prepping for NAMM.

Anyway, don't throw in the towel yet on that BFR. They won't be available until summer anyway with the backlog (even though they can be ordered now). So there's lots of time to get all the facts and make a plan. Take heart! :)

And I thought my JEM was too gawdy for public, at least I only paid $1100 for it, not $6500!!! It is kind of mezmerizing though, I must admit

I heard the BFR Luke's don't come with a Piezo which is strange, as like you said, these are the high end EBMM's...?

I'll need hooked up with some dealers too so my Uncle can put in an order, if the price is right...

Oh and rumour has it the MSRP for the Jem is $6666......strange price!

Hey Steve,

What you're saying is very true. I'll definately wait til the dust settles. But don't forget I'm paying in CDN dollars as well. It's definately not as bad as the prices that the folks overseas have to pay(taxes etc) But, I'm figuring that into the price as well.

Trust me, I'm not mad by any stretch of the imagination. The price is what the price is. There are many other BALLS that I can buy this year. If the BFR doesn't work out. But I'm hoping.:D

Knox,

After reading your post I re-examined the BFR Luke photos, and if it's safe to assume that a piezo Luke would have 3 knobs, then you're right.. there's no piezo on the BFR Luke. Interesting. I edited my earlier speculation a bit, too.

I'm anxious to hear what the prices will be, but i will say i think i'm leaning towards the LE JP model rather than the BFR JP F-1 right now because if not mistaken the F-1 will have a standard model available even if it's not a BFR, and the Blue Dawn LE will be available in limited quanties......I would also like to say all of these new EBMM guitars are just the best pieces of art i've seen....

Simply irresistible.

You can call your local dealer, they should have the pricing.

Wow... that Blue Dawn JP looks amazing. I love blue guitars. Blue sparkly guitars even more so. Is the maple fretboard an option?

That would be great. Thanks. It'll be a few months off yet, but when/if it's feasible for me to order a BFR I'll shoot you a PM if that's cool

I am not, i repeat not whinging about the whole "why can't we buy straight from the company bla bla bla...." issue. Business is business. But if you can circumvent the ridiculous taxes and surcharges we pay in this country then you should.:D
I know what you are saying and I'm playing devils advocate here - BP would argue that the reason we pay more is, yes, because of import duties, vat and freight charges- that's the same with any imported goods but it costs EB a lot for Strings and Things to act as distributors and the UK arm of Customer Service.

Let me give you an example - I have heard that somebody had to have warranty work done on their EB. They were told to take the guitar to their supplier who sent the guitar back to S&T at no charge. Within a week the guitar had a new body and was back with the owner. No charge at all!!

Now somebody has to shoulder that cost and it's EB.

Also EB must be suffering what with the weak dollar - I know there has been a price rise, but that was worldwide - not just in Europe.

S'ok, I know where you are coming from and that you will get a guitar a lot cheaper your way. But your guitar will not be guarenteed over here.
