Just walked back in from Palm Springs and - it's been said before - BP really knows how to throw a party. And this party was for a very special reason, which made it even better. It was an honor and an absolute pleasure for all of us.

I'll write more later, but here are some random photos.

It wasn't me that made the weekend good - it was BP and family.

We all had a wonderful time. La Casa de BP is a wonderful place to meet and greet and eat. It was truly an honor to be invited in. The food, as you might imagine if you've ever hung around with the boss, was unbelievable.

Friday night, we were treated to an intimate set by Rodney Crowell and his guitarist, Will Kimbrough, and his bassist, Denny Bixby (a Bongo man!). Rodney wrung every possible emotion out of all of us. He made us cry - really - and then he made us laugh. He made us all happy to be there to listen to what he does.

Then Tyler and our own Oldtoe did a few tunes and even took us to church a bit.

Afterwards, one of BP's FIERCE COMPETITORS (heh) led all of us in what can only be described as a Beatles Hootenanny. BP has about a gazillion guitars around the house, so it was easy to find something to play. At one point, I found myself on a barstool, playing a nice Collings acoustic and sitting next to Albert Lee. I said to myself, 'Jack, you're playing guitar next to Albert Lee' and freaked out and tried to get Tyler to take the guitar away, but he wouldn't. A splendid time!

I've forgotten some things....but Luke looked great*, happy and healthy and is on the BP Club Soda Liquid Refreshment Diet.

I'll get around to Saturday night at La Quinta, but I do want to very publicly thank the Ball family - the extended Ball family, but especially the nuclear Ball family - for inviting all of us out to the desert and into their home.

There ain't nobody else like you, Biff.

I thought he looked great in some of the NAMM pics! He looks like he's lost some weight and gotten some sleep. Some pics I've seen over the past year, including being on "Regis & Kelly" looked a little rough. I'm glad to see him looking healthier. :)

I didn't have the drink that you did, so I don't know if I find him sexually desirable! :p ;)
