how can i found out which wood the bass is made of?

SN: E37989

stingray 5 cherryburst, rosewood fingerboard, purcharsed in late '03

mobis,

We have been using all Southern ash on all our basses for years now, and even before that on all 'burst colors (except we used poplar in the early/mid '90's for VSB), so rest assured your bass is made of Southern ash as well.

Also - your bass was completed on 8/01/03 and was originally shipped to the good folks at Chuck Levin's Washington Music Center.

Cheers,

Dan

Bass Info

Hi All

I am new to the Forum by virtue of having just picked up my 1st MM bass, a 2nd hand SR4, trans teal with black pickgaurd, maple neck (I think?) serial number E18414. From the database I am guessing Sept' 00 as the birthday, any advice/confirmation would be great.

Cheers

hodge,

Congratulations and welcome!

Yes, that's a pretty good guess, as your bass was done on 9/20/00. It originally went to the boys over at Royal Music in Brooklyn, NY.
