Hiya. Took yet another 11-hour flight to Japan and frequented a few of my favorite guitar shops yesterday, picking up some eBay fodder to ship back. Noticed some Japanese made EBMM guitars. what is up with this -- has this been covered here before?

There is no such thing, my friend.

I saw LOADS of EBMM copies at NAMM. Almost all Japanese or Korean.

Wonderdog usually fixes that.

Actually, I think there ARE some, although it's been a long time since I read about it and I'm not sure what the deal is.

That's correct. They have the pickup selector switch in the same spot as the EVH.

Saw plenty of them myself when I was just over in Japan. To me they looked better than the OLP but not as good as the U.S. EBMM's. Having said that for some reason I seem to remember that they were U.S. parts but just assembled in Japan, which would mean they are no different.

Either way Japan is the place to go if you want to see EBMM's. I went to the Gakki Centre shop and saw more of them assembled in one place than I have ever seen before. It was fantastic!!!!

Why would EBMM ever wanted to assemble guitars in Japan:confused: Their labor cost is lot more than in United States. That is why Toyota, Nissan, Honda are assembling cars here in USA:(

wasnt it because they were way behind in production during the EVH years? I could be way off the mark, but i remember reading a story like that.
no, it's not an EVH. If they where behind in production, why would they produce another model to try and catch up?

I'm already looking for a shipping company. I've loaded up on enough stuff that I cannot possibly carry it back. None of which I can post pics of here.
