Hey.........What's that supposed to mean.:D :D :D :D :p :p :p :p :p :p

Yours Truly,
Scott "The Lumberjack":)

Alert - Monty Python reference approaching...

The Lumberjack Song from "Monty Python's Flying Circus"

I never wanted to do this job in the first place!
I... I wanted to be...

A LUMBERJACK!

(piano vamp)

Leaping from tree to tree! As they float down the mighty rivers of
British Columbia! With my best girl by my side!
The Larch!
The Pine!
The Giant Redwood tree!
The Sequoia!
The Little Whopping Rule Tree!
We'd sing! Sing! Sing!

Oh, I'm a lumberjack, and I'm okay,
I sleep all night and I work all day.

CHORUS: He's a lumberjack, and he's okay,
He sleeps all night and he works all day.

I cut down trees, I eat my lunch,
I go to the lava-try.
On Wednesdays I go shoppin'
And have buttered scones for tea.

Mounties: He cuts down trees, he eats his lunch,
He goes to the lava-try.
On Wednesdays 'e goes shoppin'
And has buttered scones for tea.

CHORUS

I cut down trees, I skip and jump,
I like to press wild flowers.
I put on women's clothing,
And hang around in bars.

Mounties: He cuts down trees, he skips and jumps,
He likes to press wild flowers.
He puts on women's clothing
And hangs around.... In bars???????

CHORUS

I chop down trees, I wear high heels,
Suspendies and a bra.
I wish I'd been a girlie
Just like my dear papa.

Mounties: He cuts down trees, he wears high heels
Suspendies?? and a .... a Bra????
(spoken, raggedly) What's this? Wants to be a *girlie*? Oh, My!
And I thought you were so rugged! Poofter!

CHORUS

All: He's a lumberjack, and he's okaaaaaaayyy..... (BONG):D :D :D

My family would starve on $40,000 a year. Plus, I'd assume most of us who have enough expendable income to buy several EBMMs make considerably more than the national average so it's not a valid point IMO.

And we suffer the same way whenever we want to buy a Diezel or a Cornford for example.

BTW - OT - I hope all the UK readers have signed the petition on the No 10 website to oppose the introduction of black box telemetry in all our cars and charging by the mile you drive! Cheeky sods!

No wonder they're picking on us.... bloody hell, take it up with the Ministry of Transport, by god!

smelly no problem just a few of your fellow dental patients have beat this thing bloody.

Lets not forget its the customers who pay for these instruments/products, and yes unfortunatley for most (who don't have infinite £ or $)in the real world it all boils down to price...

If the price isn't right then many won't be able to afford them. On the other hand many will...

Ces't la vie...there's nothing you can do about it. Cool. The knock on is that many are priced out of the market.

We all underatand the issues and unfortunately it doesn't bear well for either parties...its also a sad situation whereby many have to shop elsewhere especialy in UK/Europe for other instruments/products which clearly also has knock on effects as well. Competition and turnover being two that spring to mind.

KNox that is very true. I think that we still make a very broad range of instruments and if our premier offerings are out of someones reach we didnt do it to make people feel bad. We gave the musician yet another choice.

Every extra step costs money in a factory. I still think that BFR's are cheaper than the competition for a like instrument. If someone is looking in the premium price point we can compete favorably.

ah ah smelly don't be that rude

it's an interessting thread and I like BP's last remark. Truly sad (for me) I can't offer a BFR now but I'm really glad EBMM is offering this option and I like the way EBMM is always bringing innovation to the GTR market

You've summed it all up poppa, and I regret my initial rant (sorry) - it does get a bit annoying sometimes when US prices (new & used) seem like pennies compared the UK prices, BUT - it does go some way to explaining why people attempt to circumvent the official routes of purchase -(i.e. UK punters buying from US ebay and US dealers etc.) even with import duty and VAT (around 22% on top of the final price) it almost seems worth it...

I wonder if in the future you could by direct from EBmm or is the dealer network too strong?> - It's a tough situation for companies too I guess.

One final question, as the EB Wah is one the way and the RRP is $249 and the US dealers are dropping the price already - do you forecast that the UK rrp - and subsequent deal price might be more in line with the US?
<<Not a loaded question -just interested in your take, feel free to PM me and delete?>>

The same economic forces at work will also affect the Wah. It is just the way of the world economics.

A key to remember is that hypotheticaly if you were able to buy direct it would not be that much cheaper as I would have to create and maintain an infrastructure to provide inventory, service, warranty, artist relations, credit risk and so on.

I mention Hypothetically because we have zero plans on selling direct. Strings and Things has been a loyal and great partner for 34 years. THey were there when hobody gave a damn and still do a fine job. Some of the frustrations you may have is limited availablity but this is our fault as we try to make 1300 or so instruments a monthstretch around the world

Hey Smelly - I'm up in Bathgate March 5 - March 30 (coming home on week ends).
You gonna be near Bathgate at any time?
I may also have to "Hit" Dundee but I hope not as I have a nice comfy hotel in Livingston.

thats the point.
engl amps, nik hubers, framuses, duesenbergs, ......, all those products are silly expensive in USA. so thats part of the game. and a small flat internet world makes it possible for everyone to buy where he wants....

BTW, BP its great to have you responsing here and see your sight of view. interesting.
thx

WE wrestle with this all of the time. How do you provide exceptional service and give someone a chance to get paid a reasonable profit and coexist in a would that is so glaobal.

THe Internet will win it is just going to take a while for international business to figure how to make it work. Change is the devil for some. Just look at posts here when we change something.....
