Every year on the weekend before the 4th of July (June 30th this year) we host a party for our family and friends at our Virginia house. You all are my friends so consider yourselves invited!

For the adults it’s a drinking occasion and for the kids we have a slip ‘n slide, small kiddy pool and this year a big water slide/climbing wall/water cannon inflatable thing…. It’s huge! There will be fireworks, horseshoe throwing contest and whatever hillbilly activity we can come up with. The food is catered, but we usually have some mountain cooking as well, squirrel, deer meat and what ever the hunters in the group kill for us.

It’s very casual and located in one of the most beautiful mountain valleys in Virginia.

Hey we do this every year on the weekend before the 4th and it gets better every year. Next year we hope to have the party barn finished, or as I like to refer to it as “The Elk Creek Civic Center”, the invitation to all of you stands!

We are trying to buy the hay field next to us, it’s an almost natural amphitheatre, when we retire there we may host the Grayson County Fiddler’s Convention… or something. We need the party barn, right now we have to rent the rescue squad building for anything over 100 people, if indoors.

I love you people like family and any of you are always welcome at our houses, when ever you are in my neck of the woods.

The big event is tomorrow and we are working out rear ends off today. We over catered a little so there will be plenty of food. I brought a truck load of beer. The mega water park arrived on time and the weather report is looking good.
