After dealing with GK letdown for years now, I'll gladly and unabashedly try the first markbass rig I see! S. Korea has yet to present any, but I know it's gonna sound great after hearing so much positive feedback here!

BTW, did I mention that GK is "blah"?

Peter - I watched him type markbass in the computer. A few items came up - but not those that I wanted. He called last night about 6 pm and said that because of the way they sell MB gear - in there system price for the item plus the 2 year warranty - his computer would not let him "special order" the gear I want. He said he would get to me today with the resolution.

What is your email address?

Hi Eggman,
It's possible that the cabinets you want are not yet carried by Guitar Center.
Which cabinets did you want?
GC only carries the STD 106HF (6x10), STD 104HF (4x10), and TRV 102P (2x10) so far.
Due to the size of the American market and the size of Guitar Center (200 stores) and the importance of quality control, we had no choice but to start with 9 models at GC and gradually build up the line over time as we get gear into more and more stores at the same time. All the while, demand has been incredible. So it's a challenge, but a good one to have. The monthly orders are getting bigger and bigger every month, and more models will be introduced soon.
My email address is peter at markbass.it.
Cheers,
Peter

We're in discussions with a Korean distribution prospect... hopefully I'll have some good news for you in the next couple of months!

cheers,

Wow, Tom, you are gonna be one light lookin' dude!

I can just see you staggering around the university looking all pasty and everyone asking what's wrong with you. You'll say, "I'm feeling a little weak, but I got my dream rig and that's what really matters."

G.A.S. ain't for sissies.

Thanks BP and Peter - I will be in touch.

I am looking for the Traveler 102P and the Traveler 151P. My guy said he found "codes' for both. He did not call yesterday - so I am still in the dark about all this.

There is only one Traveler 151P in the US, and I'm afraid it's in artist stock and not for sale. I'd be surprised if that showed up in his search, but that's what it must be.

If you're looking for a 1x15, currently GC carries the front-ported STD 151HF, and will very soon have the STD 151HR (rear-ported, smaller).
I don't know yet when the 151P will be available, but we're working on it!

He should be able to order you a Traveler 102P and/or an STD 151HF and have it sent to the store, or direct to your door. There's a 60-day return policy and 2-year Performance Guarantee included with the purchase of any Markbass product.

Sorry to hijack your hijack...my fault due to the thread title being a bit vague.

I just wanted to say that I had a chance to hook up my Ampeg 15 to my Markbass and it sounded great. Great tone from the two 10s plus enough power to the 15 to shake the room...a 700 seat room. A Markbass 15 is next on my list. The Ampeg is alright, but I bought it used at a time when funds were low and I needed something cheap and quick.

You're right - title got me to rant about my problems purchasing MB gear.

Sorry for the hijack.

Glad to hear your gear is working well for you.
