wassup guys... after a long long and long time of thinking between getting me my third JP or getting me a really good amp, i decided to go with getting me a good amp. and its a no brainer that i do want a Mark IV Combo amp or a Mark IV stack depending how much of a difference in price they have.

i need your help in deciding which way is the best as far as ordering is concerned. i called my local GC and they cant seem to give me an estimate price. they always tell me that they will call me back but never did.

need your expertise guys!!!

THANKS!

Good Luck, not sure of how you should go forward but I ordered a 5:25 in March from a small music center and was told 4 to 6 weeks, then after many visits was told actually 4 to 6 months, was told it would be in this week and nobody will talk to me, so I would actually find a different amp to buy, not sure if it is Mesa or the distributors.

mesa works wierd i think they work on a rotation, meaning 2 weeks roadkings, 2 weeks roadsters, 2 weeks dual rectos, etc....so if u want a new mark IV and they just finished providing the 20 they had to do and ur number 40 on the list youll be waiting awhile. At least thats how it was explained to me....go check out grailtone.com grt mesa forum they'll be able to give u much better input

Peedo, over at grailtones.com there is a great Boogie board. They usually have the current prices up in a sticky. I think Mark IV heads are $1849 now.

When I ordered my roadster they said 10 to 12 weeks is the norm. I got it in 2. I got lucky. Hit the build cycle just right and they weren't spoken for. If you don't mind used, Ebay or The Boogie Board :: Index like others have said............good luck.

Can't give you a price? They sell at list for crist sakes! Call mesa directly, they have the answer. I agree it's gotta be somewhere around $1800 for the head and more for the combo.

Whichever way you go, I suggest getting a short head...Just in case you go rack mounted in the future.... Combos are too freakin' heavy

I decided to go the used route after someone posted a steal of a deal from a music swap shop in California on the boogie board. It was a Mark IV long chassis. I paid $850 shipping in all for it. No footswitch though. I wanted a short head, so I posted on the boogie board that I wanted to trade, and found someone with a short head in MINT condition w/ case and footswitch that wanted to trade, so I got another STEAL of a deal...

I added 2 1x12 cabs in and I've got a killer mini rig...

You have found the road to enlightenment. The rest is up to you!

This would be the mark iv to have (i would be in on it if I didn't already have one):
eBay: Mesa Boogie Mark IV 4 Amp Head w free hard case & cable (item 170125253321 end time Jul-01-07 17:26:30 PDT)

It is being sold by a forum member over at the JP forum (he posted the following to promote it):
selling my mark iv : \ - John Petrucci Forums

Looks clean and it is a 2001 B version. Will prob go for roughly $1200 - $1300 if I had to guess... The last few Mark IV's have ended right around that.

Keep us posted peedo...

Still waiting for the lithograph! I'm hoping I will get it, but there very well could have been more than 500 orders placed on May 7th. I had it ordered within minutes of receiving the email about the pre-order, so I figured I would have been one of the first.

That auction should be up soon shouldn't it? Better check ebay and see for myself. Good luck on snagging that nice Mark IV!

I've had a ton of amps, but since i've bougth my MarkIV Sort Head in 1998, i've never needed something else, it really is a monster, and the combo MarkIV/EBMM guitars is awesome.

Aw man. Too bad. There will be another. If I didn't want an Egnater, I might be looking for a Mark IV. Or even a Dr. Z Stang Ray.

You did well to wait and bid at the last minute! Next time, just wait until 30 seconds or less until you place your max bid. I was hoping you would snag that one, though. But like Roburado said, there will be others! I'll keep my eyes peeled for another...
