Hi everyone, I posted this in the 'pictures' and 'colors' forums, but thought this might be the best one to get some information on the bass. Sorry if I overposted this, but I'm new. Bought this from a guy a few weeks ago, my first EBMM and I am stoked!! I would call the color candy apple red metallic, but couldn't find it in the EBMM color chart. Looks brand new, plays fantastic!!!:D I would like to get the basic info: color/year/wood THANKS

Hi Dan,

Today I got hold of a StingRay 4 with SNR E13783 in brand new condition with case. Seller told me it was laying around for a couple of years. What do you have on record regarding this bass?

TIA

Love & Peace,
Oliver

Oliver, I would say a couple of years is a slight understatement. What you found there is a gem that was completed on 04/04/00. It is a StingRay 2-EQ in Black Sparkle Rosewood with a matching headstock. Sweet! ;)

Thanks, Dan. You hit the nail on the head

The beatiful and rare finish is what made me buy it instantly although the setup was quite out of whack (about 9mm action!) and the strings were completely dead. I gave the neck a lemon oli treatment (first round soaked completely into the wood after a couple of minutes) and put on a fresh set of string. Great improvement... ;)

But wow! Over seven years in the dark dungeon! I guess it will look forward to being played on stage :D.

Oh, BTW, can you also tell me what wood was used for the body? TIA

Welcome radial! Congratulations on your new (at least to you) bass. Our records show it as a StingRay 4 H Medallion Gold finish with a rosewood board and a white pearloid pickguard. It was originally shipped to a GC on 2/19/04.

My dog's name is Bailey, but he's not the one on my avatar. He's a beagle. I need to get his pic to be my avatar. I will work on that.

Hi there!

I've been a proud owner of a Sterling since about 95, I think. Bought it used from Bass Northwest and have loved it ever since. I'd love to see when my bass was made. Best I can tell is Spring of 04. My serial number is 40722 (from the bridge), it has a bird's eye maple neck, and the original sunburst color (as illustrated here: http://s34.photobucket.com/albums/d106/EBMMColour/Trans/Original%20Sunburst/?action=view&current=TheoriginalSunburstcolour.jpg).

Here's a picture for fun:

Thanks!

Can't find S/N?

Hey there,

I have a EBMM Frettless I bought from a local music shop before the GC bought them out. I cannot find the SN on it.

BTW: I am considering putting a fretted neck on it, possibly a Status Graphite.
Any thoughts/input would be appreciated.

Pics for your consideration: :)
