I'll admit they aren't great photos, but your rhetoric is a little harsh. ;) I know and work with Eddie from Indoor all the time (he's like 3 miles away from my business). He's been a good supporter of EB/MM instruments, he's a great guitarist and a totally honest dude, so cut him some slack. :) His photo guy just didn't a good job this time around...

hehe, sorry Paul, good point. I just remembered reading the post the other day from BP about sevenstring.org and the associated madness with some other sites' pictures. I wanted to let the crew here know to see if they can rectify this one before it's too late.

I hope there will be some BFR's at the local guitar center here, I'm dying to play one. Not to mention I just want to see it in person

I've found that the two best tricks for grabbing photos of quilt/flame tops has to do with two things. . . . . angle and lighting. It take a crapload of practice to get it down.

I think even the best photos still don't do the BFR's justice. Those are some beautiful works of art you're building there BP!!!!!!!

Honestly, it's not that hard to take good shots of a guitar. Stick it out in the sun, find a nice angle and snap in focus. My BFR shots look great in my opinion, even the ones I took of my JP6 looks nice.

That Ruby Burst BFR JP6 photo is just wrong... indoor with a crappy angle.. Heck, he could be using a cell phone to take them.

Hey, thats WildWestGuitar in Riverside, CA. Just 30 minutes drive from me. For a mom and pop guitar shop that stock that many BFR's and other EBMM guitars/basses, in that area (as in distance from LA)... i'd cut them some slack. There are 2 GC's that i know of close to wildwest, and neither had ANY BFR. One GC has a JP6 thats all torn-up. They have no pics of instruments they dont have

I think this whole tops debate is all internet hoo-hah. I'm sure connoisseurs of flame or quit tops know better then to base their $x,xxx purchase on web pix. the ones who criticize the top based on web pix can't afford them anyway.

Ever met violinists who criticize the varnish of a Stradivarius? trust me, they're out there. I wish UFO's would take those people away and perform all kinds of probing on them.

Wow - what I'd give to have a shop like Wild West around here!!
One observation on my part - they carry a great stock and they show pics of previous EB guitars they have sold - but not one Albert Lee.

+1 ! There is no finer gentleman than Eddie, in or out of this business. He is a fantastic musician, head and shoulders above 99% of us, but he treats everyone like they're on his level.

I've seen those JP BFRs in person, and they are awesome.
