Why should you buy one of ours?

makes all the right things look bigger in the shower

Poppa needs shoes.

I'm not brining mine in the shower!

I thought you wore flip flops.

Anyways, I didn't read any of this tread other than what BP put above.

I think you've already made up your mind about the guitars as you've no doubt been lurking and went through the trouble of signing up. (welcome to the forum BTW). You are only posting as an acknowledgement that you're going to purchase. People seem to do that (including myself). It's some kind of prove to one's self or girlfriend or wife thing. You read a tonne of good things for the justification. If you've ever tried a Music Man, then you were done there.
Your problem is not deciding that you want one, but more of how are you going to finance the 4 others that you'll want to buy afterwards.
So anyways, don't forget. We want to see pics after you purchase! ;)

Guy's just want to thank you all for the advice,
I felt pretty sure of the Luke when I first looked at/played it but having not seen or heard of them much I was unsure of dropping so much cash on an unknown axe with a funny little headstock.
I would like to know a little more about the EMG's on the luke as I am looking for a little more "Balls" and versatility than my strat has.
I guess I wanted to get some moral support, and hey now I know things will look bigger in the shower "I gotts to hav one".
I will take another look at the Silhouette as well but I really like the neck on the Luke, either way I have sold one of my Strats and will be looking to pick up a EBMM over the next few days.

Firstly, hello all.
I have just registered here when I happened across a reference to this forum on ebay, where a guy is selling something called a Luke in some weird green with the martini glass fret board markers...

Hehe...so that's how the outside world sees our beloved Dargies, eh? Since you already got the sales pitch from everyone else, I'll fill you in on the 'weird green' guitars. They were a special run called the 'Dargie Delights', commissioned for the forum members, named by one of our moderators (Dargin), only advertised here, and sold through EBMM dealers. There were only a few hundred made of the different models and configs, and the one on eBay belongs to FingBeagles, one of our forum members.

Hi Fing...I figured that technically while it was on ebay, it was still yours ;) - I didn't know there was another one for sale in the UK.

Anyway, I saw that carsandguitars bought yours, and I'm glad to see it that it's going to make another forum member happy!

It's simple...two things....

They are simply the finest guitars being made...(that is fact..not opinion)

and chicks dig 'em!

I sold my '73 LP custom to fund my EBMM JP6, and I there's not a single moment of regret ever since! Dang, If I had been richer id buy all Lukes and JP's that popped up on ebay, quality over and playability over coolness I say ;) (haha, not saying Balls aint cool, best finishes ive seen yet!)

Buy the guitar, you won't regret it my friend! :D

I've thought about this thread and I think you shouldn't buy an EBMM. Here's why:
1. You'll spend so much time enjoying it you'll have no time for anything else.
2. You'll want another and then another and then another...
3. Chicks will dig you and then you'll have hire security, but you wont be able to afford them due to reason #2.

Plus if you get more than one, all the groupies will be asking you if they can look at your balls and play with them. :D

Seriously though, let us know how you do, I havn't had the chance to play a Luke. But I really like the pick up configuration compared to the other models. I will consider this model in the future.

Slider - besides the obvious, EBMM are renown for quality customer service and standing behind their guitars. I've been looking at EBMM's as well recently (am also in Aust.) they are about the only major brand I haven't owned yet (have owned PRS, Gibson, Fender, Peavey etc).

Unsure why you say the EBMM's are more than Custom Shop Fender's and Gibson's - I know Aust prices rather well and have yet to see an EBMM outprice a custom shop Gibson; some EBMM's do outprice the lower end of the Fender Custom Shop offerings (i.e a Custom Classic for example).

The only negative I've read against EBMM is complaints about stress-cracks in some of the neck pockets of their guitars because they fit the necks in real tight *however*, having said that, I've never seen anyone say EBMM hasn't repaired a warranty issue such as this.

As I said, the company does have a rep. for standing behind their products and for me personally, that says a heck of a lot. I also like the fact that EBMM employees (and the CEO I believe) post at this forum and talk to the people actually playing their instruments. Reminds me of the stories of Leo Fender in Fender's glory days - a company actually talking/listening to their consumers! EBMM players tend to be pretty devout also, so they obviously like what they are getting.

Also, if you frequent some other forums (the Gear Page for example) and do some research, you'll see a number of people rave about EBMM necks, the shape and smooth finish in particular. Having played 3 Silo's in the past, I was impressed with each one. I'm hoping to pick one up in the near future (or possibly an Axis)

Hope this helps.
