What do you guys think of an Al with humbuckers!!!

Im looking for a new axxxxxe, and EBMM is the way to go.
I have my petrucci which I love and it really is the best guitar on the planet

I think I have played every ball except the Albert Lee and all I hear about them is good,

I like the way they look too

but Im a humbucker guy so if I were to get one I would stick some minibuckers in it

let it scream!!!!

I think Rob has a chip implanted in him thats goes off if the word "AL" appears in these threads. He is the first to jump in. I think it's great!! You go Rob!

I'm waiting for the AL to be available with humbuckers like the one Saraceno plays. Maybe a custom limited run would be nice **cough cough* for the EB faithful. Seriously get it done already!! My cash is going the way of PRS and others hoping for this thing!! Don't forget the maple top too. :cool: Ah... throw in the Mahogany tone block as well if you're gonna do it! DO IT!!

duncan makes a little 59er that sounds real good...& will fit right in an al bridge position. make sure u don't lose the original pickup though. u very well may wish u had it later on.

I put a Dimarzio mini tone zone in the bridge of my trans orange Al,
and its cool, i still have the sunburst that I routed for the humbuckers
and it rocks too!!

Do you know it's funny, because before my wife bought me my first Ball (The Purple Axis) my main gigging guitar for a decade or so was a Green Tartan Yamaha Blues Saraceno.
And now after dalliances with a fair proportion of the EBMM range I've settled on the 2 Balls that you could arguably morph together to create Blues' guitar (Axis, Albert Lee).
And as a final bizarre Blues related twist, I'm about to start playing some shady pub gigs again and I was looking for a cheap guitar that would act as a backup to either the Axis or the Albert should I pop a string. So I thought SSH, chubby neck, trem of some sort, compact body shape....
Any guesses ?

Now I'm gonna play devils advocate and go t'other way.

Leave it as it is and get yourself a Seymour Duncan pickup booster.

Those AL SSS single coils are REALLY nice pickups.
