I've been reading this forum for about a month. It was what led me to purchase a JP6 and Axis for my very 1st guitars. See, I am a total newbie. Im 38 and have always wanted to learn how to play guitar. When I was 9 I took lessons for a year but had a HORRIBLE teacher who taught me about 10 notes in that year. No chords, no scales. Just single notes. After that I gave up and pretty much forgot about guitar thinking it would take a lifetime to learn. 10 weeks ago I decided to give it a shot again and my main interest was blues. I went through a few guitars and nothing felt right until I bought a JP6 and Axis. Yes, I could not resist. I bought two.

Well, in these 10 weeks I have learnt a ton of chords, 2 scales, and some basic rhythm patterns. Just three days ago I bought a little Fender G-Dec 30 and have been having a blast with it. A buddy of mine from grade school also wanted to start lessons and we had the idea to start a youtube series of vids to highlight our progress. I've been uploading every week and since getting the JP6 my playing seems to of improved.

Now, remember I am a total newbie and sound like crap but Im proud that I am able to play and have it at least sound somewhat like I know something about the guitar.

My latest video is at the link below on youtube. Its dark, grainy but I just taped it tonight and did not have enough light. Just wanted to see if you guys think I doing OK for 10 weeks. Also wanted to say once again that I love these EBMM guitars. Amazing quality instruments!

I must say I think it's awesome that you decided to pick up the guitar at your age:) To me that is in some ways very inspiring.

Keep us updated on your progress;)

Congratulations

After 10 weeks, it's really good. You are also very courageous : when you are an adult, it's always harder to learn new things. Personally, I was lucky because in my family, there are a lot of musician, so I started learning music when I was 6 years old. It helps a lot ;)
Kids are so gifted for learning. My daughter started classical guitar when she was 5 years old. Now, after 4 years of guitar, I am starting to be jealous

Anyway, enjoy your music, even if some a**hole will always criticize what you play.

Cool. We all started out the same way. Nothing wrong with it. Keep practicing and you will see great progress. If you get in a rut...let us know. We can turn you on to some other ideas to help you along. Good luck!
