My fretless HSp has been waiting patiently for the Church to call!

I've done an occasional service over the past few years, nothing steady. But I've always known that when the time comes my fretless will be the "go-to" Bongo for the job! :)

Boys if you’re going to church to look at someone’s bongos you’re sort of missing the point of church.

I’ve never played bass in church and probably shouldn’t till I get better at playing bass. See I make a lot of mistakes and mistakes make me cuss…

All joking aside, I’m glad to see so many of you guys play in church, I really respect that.

I played my SR5 H last Sunday. I'm off this weel. Easter service we are putting up a 1200 seat outdoor tent with a full stage / PA. I'll be taking the SR5 as a backup bass, but will play my AB-II Dingwall primarily.
Outdoors and 1200 in attendance.....the good ole days. I love the large congregations. Enjoy and some pics would be nice......I plan on taking some pics either this Sunday or Easter Sunday and posting them on the Forum.

That would be a great thread.......Easter Sunday Gig Pics...........

you talk me into it......:D

I wish I had a Bongo to take to Church on Sunday. But, my Stingray does it's job nicely! I'm actually playing in Santa Cruz at the beach this Sunday for a Baptism service. It's gonna be sweet.
I love Baptism's. MM Basses will do a nice job in any Church Service. It's the tone all Worship Leaders desire.........;)

We had our $50,000 sound system professionally EQ'ed this week for our upcoming services. While EQing the bass through the house the sound pro said, "Man, what the heck kind of monster bass is that? That thing is awesome!" I just looked at him and smiled knowingly...the SUB5 thunder had struck again!

I play my Bongo 5 at church sometimes. I have been using my Stingray 4 for years but recently got a Bongo. I think the Stringray cuts through better but I am going to give the Bongo another chance.

With all do respect to the Stingray, I have owned a couple and prefer the Bongo for it's big thundering low end. I've played P Basses for years and the Bongo comes closer to the tone that I hear in my head or what I need to sound like. Our Worship leader, team members, and especially the drummer love the Bongo tone for our style of music and worship.

What it all boils down to is you have to find the instrument and tone that makes it happen musically for you and your style........
