It's back. I finally got my RW piezo 20th back. It's up and running now, though my tech couldn't really trace the fault. He said it's most likely a cold solder point, and he couldn't find it, so he just resoldered EVERY point on the PCB... It worked... whahahaha...

So, for the first time ever, here's all 3 20ths together!!!

Great pic - I'm jealous. Maybe someday I'll pick one of those up. Glad to hear the problem was easily fixed.

I do? :p Heh... Honestly, I'm still looking for more. I just love these babies...:D They ALL have a different character... The one I got from Norrin Radd was the most interestng one. It really opened my eyes to something I've always suspected in the past: The influence of the wood's acoustic properties on the resultant tone.

That one is acoustically bright. And I dont' mean the string tone. Tapping the body and placing the ear to another part actually produces a bright (higher note) conga like tone. The rest are actually deeper and darker sounding. This difference in the acoustic tones actually reflects on the sound coming from the amp.

The interesting bit is that ALL my EBMMs have a nice conga like tone to the wood, with varied depths. But many of the other guitars I've tried this on all produce a dead "thud". Even the JP6 being basswood was acoustically nicer than this JEM I tried, which was DEAD...

I'm intrigued man...

That middle one is exactly the 20th I'd get if I was to seek one out. Maple board, matching head, flame, trem, non piezo. Perfect! :D Love the look of the zebra 'buckers in the one on the right too.

Nice. I love the quilt on the left one. Which one is the bright one and what pickups are there on the one with piezo?

Man, I need another one of those guitars, but I got sidetracked by ordering an AL. Okay...next guitar...unless I get further sidetracked by a Silo Spec with piezo. :eek:
