Anybody got any little quirks for performances?

I know that, before marching competitions, all the Tubas get together and scream "Tubas got some soul power!!"
and that I always wear my special underwear for jazz lab gigs.

A local band usually has a little Saw 2 figure on the stage for an entire show.
And when my father was in college, a teddy monkey always made it in the show somewhere.(even if it meant throwing it across the stage)

Other than making sure everything is set flawlessly, of course.

When I was teaching technical theater in a local school, I had this special thing where the number 42 was plastered all over my office (aka the sound booth). That's only one of many of my quirks.

Oh, I perform with a capo on the headstock of my basses, mostly as a joke on guitarists who play entire shows with it on theirs.

That's a sad thing the age of majority in USA is 21... Here, in Quebec, drinking age is 18 :D

One of the reasons I love your province. The other being that my dad and little brother live there. What part of PQ do you hail from?

edit: d'oh! just saw "city" in your location. my bad.

Yes, unfortunately.

This also means bar age goes up to 21, keeping me out of quite a few good shows.

and all the other usual BS that comes with that particular piece of red tape.

you could move to Quebec.

I'd probably go for europe. I like disco. And I've got basic french.

On the thread topic, one of my drummer buddies always wears a pink tie to performances, no matter what else he wears. It's hot pink, too.

I take my boots off, have to feel mother earth beneath my feet when I play my bass.

Before every show I go to the bathroom, even if I don’t need to.

Now THAT is some sound advice. You don't get to stop a set if you forget.

So true ......
